I'm sorry I haven't been around lately...
...I think all of this work stress is really starting to get to me. Part of me wonders if it's even worth it... The BIG boss is moving along with his plans to have me assume my new title as soon as they can find a replacement for my old job, which they seem to be having a real problem with. Although the pay wasn't the greatest and there was a lot of liability and stress, I really did love that job... It seems that it's not one of the more popular jobs that people want to get recruited for, though...

Right now I'm in this sort of awkward state of limbo where I'm not in my new position yet, so I really have no authority to do anything / sign off on anything, but everyone thinks I do. I'm still in my old position and have to concentrate my efforts there, but I'm constantly having to field calls and problems from reps because everyone thinks I've already started. This week there was a lot of stress just trying to get the daily trades done with all the other things that come with the new job. I'm hoping they find someone for my old job soon. :(

On a much happier weekend note, this is my "work on my websites" weekend. :) I'm still working on moving Julie's site completely over to the re-design and I've been brainstorming and working on ideas for my new web client, the musical director / arranger who I've been in talks with for the past couple of weeks. :) Hopefully I'll be productive this weekend and get everything I need to do, done. :)

In nice Hawaii theatre news, "Urinetown" is going to be playing at the Manoa Valley Theatre. :) Mark & I have never seen a production there so we're pretty excited about it. And Matthew Pennaz - who I'd seen earlier in "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "The Full Monty" at Diamond Head Theatre and is really one of my favorite local theatre performers - is playing the role of Officer Lockstock. :) Besides, as I've always said, the only way to try to get more quality theatre to the islands is to support the theatre we already have here. :) I think we're going to get tickets for the 15th, since that was the night we were supposed to see the tour of "Movin Out" before it was cancelled.

We also have our tickets for the Diamond Head Theatre production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie" on the 28th. I'm SO excited to see the show performed here, but I'll admit to being a little scared. It's one of my favorite shows and I've seen it 12 waaaay too many times on Broadway with incredible, INCREDIBLE casts... I'm afraid this production will pale in comparison... I guess I'll just have to wait and see. The good news is that it's being directed by Darren Lee, who was in the original broadway cast and the national tour. :D

I guess I'd better run and work on my sites... Mark & I are headed out in a bit to go to Marukai - they have unagi on sale and Mark is in a HUGE unagi phase right now. ;) After that we're stopping by Robek's so I can get a South Pacific Squeeze with Li Hing Mui - since I'm in a HUGE Robeks phase right now. :) Hope you all have a nice, long weekend. :) *HUGS*

Have a wonderful, long weekend, Sheri! :) Hope you will find some time to relax! Oh, and what is "unagi"?

Big *hugs* to you! :)

Thanks so much, Sabine! And unagi is eel... I know it sounds a little strange, but it's a delicacy in Japan. It's usually cooked and served over hot rice - Mark just loves it. :)

Hope your weekend is going well. Big *HUGS* to you!!

I don't know cooked eel but only smoked eel. Especially my mother and my grandfather loved to eat it with brown bread. The last time I've eaten eel was before a long time but I liked its taste. What I never liked is that eel often is fatty here and this made me stop eating eel. Still, I can imagine that cooked eel is different and I hope Mark could get some. :)

Hope you had a nice long weekend what was able to take your mind off the work things, which I hope will change to the better soon! Take care of yourself, please. Big *hugs* to you, Sheri. :)

*hugs* I'm so sorry about all of the work stress, Sheri! Hopefully this transitional period will pass quickly, and things will feel much better when you're settled into your new position. I'm sure it will feel worth it in the end!

What wonderful news about Urinetown! It's wonderful to get a chance to see productions like that close to home. We have the same kind of theatre situation in Toronto, though - it needs to be supported so it can flourish. There is so much potential here; it just needs to be encouraged. Have a good time at the show!
