I feel like it's been forever since I've done an update...
The week started off being incredibly stressful at work (Ah, but what else is new, you ask...) :P Aside from my BIG boss requiring me to write my own recommendation for my promotion (which is the hardest thing I've ever had to do -- I hate writing things like that about myself) :P I've still been having a bit of conflict trying to juggle my two jobs and the responsibilities that I need to fulfill for each. :P I certainly hope they find someone for my old job soon. :P

To add to that, everyone in my office is sadly out with the flu so we've been very short-staffed all week. And, of course, as luck would have it, I came down with a fever, chills, and body ache yesterday and actually had to leave work at noon today when I couldn't even put a coherent sentence together... I've taken some tylenol and have slept for most of the day and I think I feel a 100 times better and almost ready to tackle work again tomorrow... It's the absolute worse time for me to get sick, but of course that's exactly when it'll happen to me. I am the queen of bad timing, after all. :P

On a NON-work related note, on Tuesday, a huge army rig damaged an overpass near my workplace and shut down our freeway for nearly 13 hours. Luckily for me, it was directly before my freeway on-ramp, but poor Mark didn't get home from work until 10:40 pm that night and Susan (who works with him) took another route and didn't get home until 1 am - which is just ridiculous! Poor Susan had to go directly to sleep only to wake up a few hours later and head back there... :P The freeway has since been opened again, but it still has to be one of the biggest traffic jams in the history of our island - 5 to 8 hours just to go less than 20 miles? Ridiculous!!

Had a nice three day weekend (it seems so long ago...) Most of it was spent working on websites (which I love) and watching my Season 5 DVD of "Will & Grace" (which I love even more) ;) And although I love Will & Grace, Season 5 just isn't the same as seasons 1 - 4. It really isn't one of my favorites... with the exception of the Barry storyline - in which Will and Jack take Karen's cousin under their wing to create the perfect gay man. I love that Will falls for him and then can't even complete a sentence in front of him... it's so "My Fair Lady" :)

And finally, I've decided on the shows that I'm going to see on my October theatre trip:

Saturday, October 7th (mat 4pm): Rabbit Hole @ the Geffen Playhouse (with Tate Donovan... be still my heart, he looks like and reminds me of Kevin!) ;)
Saturday, October 7th (eve): Urinetown @ the Matrix Theatre (with Matthew Ashford!! How could I pass this up??)
Sunday, Ocotber 8th (mat): The Marvelous Wonderettes @ the El Portal Forum Theatre (I'm SO excited to see Bets and Julie!!)
Sunday, October 8th (eve): Beehive @ the El Portal Theatre (if it's a Nick show, I'm there!!) :)

Hope you're all doing well... I feel so disconnected from everyone since it's been so long since I've been here - I miss you all! :( Things will probably calm down a bit more once they've found someone to take my old position at work and once I finish this new site that I'm working on. I thank you all for your patience with me through all of this! Big *HUGS*

My friend that works at St. Francis took 7 hours to get home. She got home to Wahiawa at 2:45 a.m.

2:45 am??? That's just ridiculous!! Poor thing! :( Thank goodness they opened the freeway right the next day - I couldn't imagine all those people stuck a second day in 5-8 hours of traffic! :(

Yep, one and the same!! :) I LOVED him when I was growing up on "Search for Tomorrow" -- Cagney McCleary... what a crush I had on him!! I didn't know he did so much musical theatre in LA! :)

Poor thing! I hope you will feel 100% and enjoy the weekend.

Traffic jam in Hawaii?! Can't imagine ;p I got stuck in a bad traffic jam too and it took me 2.5 hours to go 7 miles. I was on the freeway and couldn't get out :(

Glad to hear you'll go to LA in Oct! I wish I can see Bets too but I'm going to see The Wiz in La Jolla in Oct.

Thank you SO MUCH!! I feel a lot better today and the weekend is already starting to be very relaxing. :) Hopefully all my fellow co-workers will be able to rest up this weekend too. :)

We have SO much traffic here! I know it sounds a little ridiculous, but our freeway system is just not made for so many cars -- and people here LOVE their cars... just TRY to get them to carpool... UGH! :P

Ohhhhh.... lucky you getting to see The Wiz at La Jolla!! Please let me know how it is! :)

I really hope the stress level calms down for you. :( I also hope you're feeling better. I miss you too, but understand what life can bring. :) HUGS!

Thanks SO MUCH, Laura!! You've always been such a supportive friend to me. :) I'm actually feeling much better this weekend, I think I just needed some time to sleep it off. Hope you're doing well, Laura! I miss you! Wish I was going to be in the area in October -- it feels like forever since I've seen you! :( HUGS!!

I'm very sorry to hear that you don't feel well and I hope you feel better soon! And I hope that it will be calmer soon at your work, it sounds very stressful to me.

Glad that there is the October theatre trip so that you've something to look forward to. :)

I too miss you, Sheri! But I understand your situation. You are always in my thoughts and my heart. Have a wonderful weekend and big *hugs* to you, Sheri! :)

Thank so much, Sabine -- I feel so much better today. :) I really think I was just worn down by all the stress at work recently because I usually don't get sick. :P

I'm REALLY looking forward to October!! It's the one thing I think about that gets me through all the awful stress at my job. :P

And you have always been such a wonderful friend to me, Sabine!! Thank you for always being there for me!! :) I feel so bad because the only way I can "see" you is when I log in to LJ and lately I haven't had the timeor energy. :( I miss you!!! :( Big *HUGS* and much love to you!! :)

Uh... ok...
So, you're NOT going to see Man of La Mancha??

Re: Uh... ok...
Linda!!! My list of shows that I wrote above is still a pretty tentative list... I really don't have tickets for anything yet. :P I'd LOVE to see "Man of La Mancha" but I haven't heard from you in a while and I always try to contingency plans to ensure that I'm not traveling all that way with no tickets to anything. I'd still love to see MoLM - and YOU, if it's possible. :)

See you in the lobby!
The El Portal people have finally submitted "Beehive" for Ovation consideration. They'll comp me on the 8th -- but for the matinee, not the evening.

Awwww, darn! At least we'll be in the same theatre (seeing different shows, but oh well...) Can't wait to see you on the 7th, though!! Woo!! :D

lindasings: We'll also be in the lobby; Goldstar just put up the 10/8 tickets for Wonderettes, and we snapped up 3 of them.

Sheri: We'll see you on the 8th!

Re: See you in the lobby!
Well, actually...
The Wonderettes folks FINALLY got around to submitting this for Ovations consideration. So, I changed my reservation for Beehive and I'll be in the audience with you guys. Yippee!!!

Re: See you in the lobby!
YAY!! How come I haven't seen this post until now?? LJ must be wonky again!! :P I'M SO HAPPY I'll be seeing you there, Linda... will you be staying for the Beehive evening show too or are you seeing it another day?

Re: See you in the lobby!
God forbid the producers make it easy on the Ovation voters! No, Beehive isn't offered to us on Sunday nights, so I'm seeing it Oct. 1.

So far this Ovation year has been not been kind to voters. Lots of theatres are offering us only one comped seat. Since I have to drive quite a distance, I usually want someone to travel with m; so unless it's something I desperately want to see, or they at least offer me a discount on the second seat, I pass.

They're also limiting the performances they'll comp us to, or cut off the comps altogether because they've gotten enough voters. I have to check the web site several times a day to make sure I get my reservation in as soon as it's posted.
