A busy weekend...

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! My apologies for not getting here sooner to wish you all a happy one... This weekend seemed like it went by SO FAST!! Below is a quick recap of the last few days...

Thanksgiving

Mark & I had a lovely Thanksgiving - splitting our time between the in-laws and my uncle's house. The best part of any Thanksgiving is getting to spend time with our families and it was so nice seeing everyone. :) Probably the most wonderful news is that my mother-in-law has fully embraced my new eating choices and has agreed to allow me to bring Tofurkey to next year's feast. :)

Spending Saturday with friends :)

On Saturday, Susan & I went to a Pampered Chef party hosted by one of my friends from work. I'd only been to one Pampered Chef party before (and that was about 5 years ago) and I knew that Susan liked their products, so I invited her along. I started out going just to support my friend, but ended up spending about $50 there. A few other people from work were there and it turned out to be such a nice afternoon. After the product demo was done, we all sat around eating tomato and basil pizza and talking about everything from work to the men in our lives... it was a lot of fun - sometimes it's nice to spend a day out with the girls. :) And since it's been so long since I've seen her, Susan and I planned another dinner night - probably next Wednesday - so we can eat sushi and talk more in depth. :)

Queer as Folk Season 5

Can't believe that I finished it all in one marathon session on Saturday night... I know I'm pathetic, but I cried my eyes out near the end (I'm such a sucker for touching moments) and I really hated to see the show go. Also watching certain parts of the 5th season, I got extremely angry (similar to the feeling that I had after seeing Laramie Project staged for the first time) at the narrow-mindedness that surrounds us these days... I came away from the evening feeling like I really need to do something and be more proactive - just sitting at home being angered by all the intolerance and hate in the world just isn't enough... :P

A Holiday Card Photo Shoot

This afternoon, Mark & I got dressed up, packed up the fuzzy dog, and drove down to our nearby park to take our annual family photo for this year's holiday cards. The shoot went pretty well and didn't take as long as we expected. This was the first year that I decided to shoot it digitally and it made everything SO MUCH easier! :) I'm shooting all our holiday cards digitally from now on! Poor Sydney was a little bewildered and spent so much time sniffing around that she didn't spend much time posing for the camera. :( Luckily we were able to get one semi-decent shot. :)

Hope you've all been well! Thanks so much for all of your nice anniversary wishes in my last post. I will definitely catch up with all my comments and replies as soon as I can - but first I need to hustle my butt over and complete my Life Insurance Continuing Education Online courses before my licenses lapse (and before my boss kills me)... :P Hope you all have a lovely evening!! *HUGS*
