I swear, this has to be THE WORST year of my life...
I almost hesitate to write this because I can't even believe it myself! Our house was broken into AGAIN!

Thankfully, this time they only took a few minor things (some of Mark's older game consoles, and Mark's DS) but we've learned our lesson from January and have been keeping our computers with us at all times. So this wasn't nearly as bad as it was the last time... I'm beginning to think that they're kids - they even took a few of Mark's games - what adult robber would take games??? Thankfully Sydney is safe and they didn't harm her.

We think it was the same people, the same door was used to enter and they left the same way. They looked through the same things and the same places they did last time (when they found things...)

I'm not so much sad this time (because the stuff they took this time wasn't irreplaceable) as I am disgusted. WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE WOULD BREAK INTO A HOUSE TWICE?? It's just SOOO unbelievable! If it weren't actually happening to me, I wouldn't believe it myself. :P

The police who took our report said that it's because we live on an end unit and they can easily jump over our fence (from the road) without being seen.

I swear, this has to be THE WORST year of my life.

Thanks so much for your comment, Ashley! I've seen people do that and it's a great idea!

Unfortunately, our sliding door was constructed incorrectly and it slides outward so we can't put anything in it to prevent someone from opening it... I think our house was the only one constructed that way. GRRRR! :P

Maybe I could sue the builders of the house? (Sorry - the evil in me is coming out more than it should this week!) :P

Yikes! You know, given all of this, it might be worth it just to have a new sliding glass door put in. And I'd be tempted to make whomever constructed your house do it and, if not do it for free (it was their screw up and their screw up is making break-ins easier), then do it for a reduced price. Because, seriously, that's their mistake and they need to fix it - especially since it makes your house less secure. I'm really sorry this keeps happening to you guys. :(
