And it's been a while, but I'm finally dusting off my "serious" camera and getting back to what I love - taking photos. :) My co-worker told me about an employee photo contest that's going on at the bank where the entries will be judged by a museum art curator. The winners can win gift certificates and will get a showing in the museum portion of our bank's main branch (yes, we have a museum in our bank...) I could care less about winning, but for the first time in a long time I'm determined to start shooting again - and that's got to be a good thing no matter how I look at it. :)
Also, Mark & I decided (okay, so it was just me who decided) ;) to buy tickets to Diamond Head Theatre's production of "Follies" tomorrow night. I thought it might be interesting to see since we saw the LA production with Patty Duke, Harry Groener, Bob Gunton, Vicki Carr, and... well... Kevin :). I always complain that we don't have theatre here, so I thought I should go and see for myself. I know there are talented performers in the islands and I was curious to see their rendition of the show. Besides, it's about time that I supported local theatre! :)
In other GREAT news: my "Parade" CD came in the mail! Woo! :) AND I've been listening to it and it's absolutely beautiful!! I love Carolee Carmello - she's incredible... But I have a few reservations about Brent Carver only because I've been spoiled by hearing Kevin sing the part. ;) And it only occurs to me now that Kevin sang the wrong words during the Mother's Day concert... Oops!
But get this - Amazon screwed up my order AGAIN! Instead of sending me the paperback version of "Parade" (the entire show}, they sent me the vocal selections which I am quite sure I DIDN'T order... :P I'm afraid to send it back because of my horrible return experiences with them from before... :( How hard is it to get an order right?? This is the third time they've sent me the wrong item. :P And if I wasn't so giddy about getting my CD, I might be in a little worse mood about this... Thank goodness they sent the right CD!
BTW, have I mentioned recently that Jason Robert Brown is a genius? :)
