Boy did I need this weekend!
Work was actually pretty enjoyable today except for the last half hour when my boss decided to unleash all his pending business on me before he left on his week long vacation. I really don't mind taking care of his pending, but a lot of it was due to his procrastination with difficult situations or customers he didn't particularly want to deal with. Don't get me wrong, I love working with my boss - but sometimes I feel like wringing his neck... :)

And it's been a while, but I'm finally dusting off my "serious" camera and getting back to what I love - taking photos. :) My co-worker told me about an employee photo contest that's going on at the bank where the entries will be judged by a museum art curator. The winners can win gift certificates and will get a showing in the museum portion of our bank's main branch (yes, we have a museum in our bank...) I could care less about winning, but for the first time in a long time I'm determined to start shooting again - and that's got to be a good thing no matter how I look at it. :)

Also, Mark & I decided (okay, so it was just me who decided) ;) to buy tickets to Diamond Head Theatre's production of "Follies" tomorrow night. I thought it might be interesting to see since we saw the LA production with Patty Duke, Harry Groener, Bob Gunton, Vicki Carr, and... well... Kevin :). I always complain that we don't have theatre here, so I thought I should go and see for myself. I know there are talented performers in the islands and I was curious to see their rendition of the show. Besides, it's about time that I supported local theatre! :)

In other GREAT news: my "Parade" CD came in the mail! Woo! :) AND I've been listening to it and it's absolutely beautiful!! I love Carolee Carmello - she's incredible... But I have a few reservations about Brent Carver only because I've been spoiled by hearing Kevin sing the part. ;) And it only occurs to me now that Kevin sang the wrong words during the Mother's Day concert... Oops!

But get this - Amazon screwed up my order AGAIN! Instead of sending me the paperback version of "Parade" (the entire show}, they sent me the vocal selections which I am quite sure I DIDN'T order... :P I'm afraid to send it back because of my horrible return experiences with them from before... :( How hard is it to get an order right?? This is the third time they've sent me the wrong item. :P And if I wasn't so giddy about getting my CD, I might be in a little worse mood about this... Thank goodness they sent the right CD!

BTW, have I mentioned recently that Jason Robert Brown is a genius? :)

Awwwwwwww you got a wrong thing from Amazon again? You should complain, at least say something?

Oooh, I wanna see your photos, that sounds kewl.

I was thinking about emailing them and complaining about my order, but I was too tired to go through with the whole return process all over again... :P I'm thankful that I at least got my Parade CD - now if they had given me another CD instead of that one - they would be hearing it from me! ;)

And thanks, Rayna - maybe I'll post a photo or two here one day. :) Hope you're having a nice weekend! And is it just my imagination or has the heat returned? :P

It's been pretty nice here, we still have trade winds in my room it hasn't been too hot. How is it in Ewa? I was in Waikele and it was pretty humid and hot over there.

Btw, I hope you have a great Father's Day tomorrow!

I'd love to check out your pictures, I hope you'll post some soon.

You know, I haven't order anything from Amazon.com lately. I was going to get something from Amazon.ca since Hmv.com went to be apart of Amazon.ca o_O I ordered from Archambault instead though. Well, maybe you can sing the Parade songs now?

Amazon always screws up my orders, too.
Sherishutterbug93 on June 14th, 2003 04:55 pm (UTC)
They have? :( You know, the majority of the people I've talked to has had some sort of problem with them. :( It's a shame that they're the only place to find obscure recordings and DVDs... :(

that's great you are going to start paking pics again! I love taking pics too! Post them up here.... I'd love to see them! :o)
Sherishutterbug93 on June 14th, 2003 04:56 pm (UTC)
Thanks Stacey :) Maybe I'll post a few if I'm happy with the results. :) BTW, are you still scrapbooking?

I had posted a comment earlier, but I guess it didn't go through. Anyway....I'm glad you'll be shooting again. Can't wait to see the pictures. :) I'm sorry Amazon screwed up yet again. Your experience w/them has made me never want to try it. Enjoy your CD and the rest of your weekend. Maybe LJ won't swallow this comment up hehe. :)
Sherishutterbug93 on June 14th, 2003 05:02 pm (UTC)
Sometimes LJ goes wonky and doesn't post my comment either. Thanks for trying again. :) I'm very excited about getting back into photography, but it's been several years and half of me is afraid that I've lost the knack for it. :P Thanks for your sweet comments and I hope you're having a nice weekend. :)

Perhaps, you would like to post some photos here. I love to look at photos. :) What kind of museum do you have got in your bank?

I'm sorry to hear that you've got something wrong from Amazon (up to now I only made good experiences with them) - luckily, at least they sent the right CD.

Wish you a nice weekend. :)
Sherishutterbug93 on June 14th, 2003 05:07 pm (UTC)
Thanks, Sabine. In fact, I might post a few photos - though it depends on how they turn out - it's been a while since I've taken pictures, after all. ;) And we have a contemporary art museum below us in the main branch of our bank. The work there is nice, even though I've never been a huge fan of "contemporary" art.

I'm glad to hear that you've had good experiences with Amazon. :) Maybe it's just the luck I have with them? In any case, you're right - at least they sent the right CD to me. :) I would be mighty upset if I got the wrong one! :P

Have a nice weekend too! :)

I love taking pictures - I havent done it in so long - I should get back into it too. Its so fun - and its actually therapuetic at times - taking beautiful pictures!

I have never ordered off of Amazon, but I think I wont!! LOL
Sherishutterbug93 on June 15th, 2003 03:08 am (UTC)

I agree, taking pictures is extremely therapeutic! You really should get back into it, I'd love to see some of your work. :)

And as far as Amazon goes, I must just have bad luck with them. Some people have really good experiences with them, but all my orders seem to be cursed... have I wronged them in a previous life or something? ;)
