This week was incredibly busy at work - aside from a trip to Kauai on Wednesday to visit with one of my reps, the office has been busy planning our annual "Race to Retirement" dinner awards party. It's a party our department puts on each year to reward the branches who have given us the most referrals throughout the tax season.
This year's dinner is going to be held at the Hawaii Prince Hotel tomorrow evening. It's always a lot of fun to spend time with my co-workers at this event, but it's also a lot of hard work too since our department is the one hosting it. This year the dinner is much bigger than it's ever been - with over 200 bankers invited... The upside is that our department is sponsoring individual rooms for all the back office staff at the Prince so we're able to crash there after the party and not worry about having to drive all the way home. It should be a lot of fun. :)
A quick Sydney update for everyone who was nice enough to send her prayers and healing wishes last week... She's doing SO much better - it's hard to believe that she was SO ill just a week ago. Thankfully she's been eating much more (and gaining back some of the weight that she had lost), she's much more active, and her cute, demanding, and oh-so-Sydney personality has returned. We're just hoping that this period of healthiness lasts a long, long time...
An update on my class... Although I'm completely exhausted every week, it's such a joy to be doing something that truly makes me happy. As I've mentioned in my other post, I'm a little hesitant right now about mentioning exactly what kind of classes I'm taking - I just want to see how far I can get and how well I do before I say anything specific about it. I do love what I'm learning and though I'm realizing that what I want to do will take a lot of time and training, it helps that I've always had an interest in the subject even though I've never had the courage to do anything about it, until now.
The web work is pretty steady... With Kara's site completed, I can focus all of my energy on completing the ZenSpa site (which I've been mulling over and working on for the past few weeks - to no avail...) :P I love web work so much and I really love the creative outlet it provides for me... :D
I'd better run - again, I'm finding it hard to keep my eyes open - and I have a heck of a long day tomorrow with the "Race to Retirement" party for work. Hope you all have a lovely evening and thank you so much for being so patient with me lately -- I promise to get my act together soon. :) HUGS!
