Short update from Sacramento. :)
My flight got in at about 9:15pm this evening. The good news is that the Super-shuttle was easy to find, the driver was courteous and friendly, and the hotel is SOOO close to the Wells Fargo Pavillion! :)

The bad news is that I didn't rent a car and so I feel a little trapped at the hotel (I'm so used to driving anywhere I want when I travel) and I'm really, REALLY hungry. I don't feel like venturing outside tonight, so I think I'll eat a couple of fruit and nut bars that I brought from home and wait until tomorrow morning. :P

And I guess I've never been to the Sacramento airport before, because I was shocked to see this work of art in the baggage claim area. :) I don't think I was the only one, too - a lot of the Hawaii people who got off the plane with me were taking pictures of it. :)

Edited to add: My arrival at the hotel was made additionally lovely by being able to catch Julie Ann's "speed dating" scene from HITCH on TBS in the hotel room. :) Nothing makes me happier than seeing Julie on TV.

I should run, I have a bunch of work that I have to do for the Chess and VMT sites that I didn't get the chance to do at home. Hope you all have a nice evening! HUGS!

Welcome to Sac. Downtown is a maze of one-way streets; if you're going there, I highly recommend printing out something from Mapquest. Miss one turn and you have to do a lot of doubling back. It's a pain.

Other than that, though, feel free to wander around Old Sac. The Candy Barrel is a great place to stop after lunch, especially if you like taffy. :)

Thanks for the advice! I can't really venture too far (as I didn't rent a car this trip) but there's definitely a lot of interesting things right around me to occupy my time! :D I have a Melting Pot, Brew It Up, etc next door!

Isn't it neat? I just had to take a photo of it. There are two luggage sculptures like that in baggage claim - SOOO neat! :)

There you go again! Working when you're supposed to be having fun! I hope you have a great time, manage to break free of your hotel prison, and find some food!

HAHA!! I really need to find some food! :D I can't survive on fruit and nut bars all trip! :P It might be a good thing, though and might help me shed some of those extra pounds. ;) There's a Brew It Up very close by that I'm meeting my work friend at this evening and I looked at their menu - YUM!

Oh yeah, you'll find something to eat there. I hope the food is just as good without the brew, since you're not a drinker!

The luggage art thing is SO COOL! :) Isn't it? I have been to the Sac airport twice and thought that was a cool thing to see.

I was SO amazed when I saw it! I looked at it really closely too and noticed golf clubs in there and everything. :) I just had to take a picture of it! :D
