Some thoughts on the close of this weekend...
After much talking, Mark & I have decided to plan a short overnight trip to Maui over the weekend of the 22nd - 23rd. The 23rd would've been Sydney's 10th birthday and we didn't really want to sit at home being depressed by it all. Besides, it's been years since Mark & I went to Maui (for anything other than for work) and we thought it would be a nice getaway and a nice way to remember her.

In other news, Mark bought a new 160GB iPod this weekend and spent the ENTIRE weekend loading it with video, music, etc... The one nice thing is that when he's done, I'm inheriting his old 80GB iPod. :) And with three complete seasons of Will & Grace, three complete seasons of Six Feet Under, selected Queer as Folk and due SOUTH episodes, about 660 songs, and about 8 movies, I was really running out of space on my old 30GB ipod! Yay for inheriting my hubby's old hand-me-downs! :D

And I guess it hasn't been an issue too much anymore because I really haven't had the time for it,... but I'm again looking for another TV series to watch. :P I plowed through all 5 seasons of Six Feet Under in just a few weeks, Queer As Folk lasted me only a few months, and due SOUTH only took me a couple of weeks... I tried, but couldn't get in to Brothers & Sisters, or Reunion... I'd like to try Dexter, but I'm so afraid that I'll be too disturbed by Michael C. Hall's portrayal (well, that I don't deal with violence well at all...) Any suggestions?

In sad news, I checked my DVD of the Jerry Lewis Telethon that I recorded while I was in Sacramento and FF'ed through all 4 hours and no Kristi whatsoever! :( Very sad...

I can't believe that a new work week is starting already. :P These days the weekends just don't feel long enough to recover from the week before. I'm still faithfully taking my night school classes (and loving it!!), but that might be contributing to the feeling that I never have any downtime lately... Hope you've all had a nice weekend. Big HUGS to you!!

Have you explored Heroes?

As for the iPod... I've still got a lot of loading to do... I've finished perhaps one row total of CDs in my rack. I've also got to learn how to subscribe to podcasts and download video. Of course, tips are welcome...

Mark & my sister in law, Julie are hooked on Heroes! :) I've heard more than a few people talk about it and it's peaked my interest. :) I'll have to check it out. :)

Wow - you certainly sound like you have a lot of songs that you're loading on your iPod! :D I don't know about podcasts and hubby is nice enough to load my video for me... so really, I'm not much help in the tip department. ;P

I second Heroes, and add Doctor Who (because I'm spreading the insanity), Big Love, Entourage, and Battlestar Galactica.

Also might consider The Wire - there's a certain amount of violence, to be sure, but it doesn't dwell on the gory part so much as it dwells on the really depressing aspects. It's not a fun show, or a happy show, but it's really well written, terribly interesting, and it deserves more attention than it gets.

I've seen Big Love and Entourage at Borders! My hubby loves Battlestar Galactica, and Heroes for that matter - you guys would get along wonderfully. :)

The Wire sounds fascinating as well. Any show that's well written intrigues me. Thanks for all the great suggestions! :)

To me, you plan sounds like a nice idea and I hope that you both will have a nice time.

In regard to TV series I can't offer any idea because the only one I watch is "Dr. House" here. It seems that I got addicted to this one. :) And last week they got it to confuse me - they talked about a spot on the carpet what seemingly was blood and suddenly I saw Dr. House walking around like everybody else even if he still was limping the week before last week. I'm sure there must be hidden any magician who did a good job. ;)

I'm sorry to hear that there was no Kristi on the DVD. :( And yes, you are right - actually the weekends could be longer in general. Hope your week will not be so strenuous. Big Hugs to you you, Sheri!

Thanks, Sabine! We wanted to celebrate Sydney's birthday by not sitting around our house feeling sad that she's not with us anymore. And it's been a while since we've gone to the neighbor island just to relax...

Haha! I do remember from our conversations about TV shows a while ago that you love "House" :) Another friend of mine loves the show too and never misses it. :)

And yes, sadly no Kristi on DVD... Heard her performance was great and I'm sad to have missed it. :(

Hope you have a lovely week, Sabine!! HUGS!

Grey's Anatomy!! My two co-workers and my Mom love the show and keep trying to get me to watch it! :) My Mom has the Season 1 DVD (that I actually got her for Christmas last year) :) Maybe she'll let me borrow it. :D

It's been AGES since Mark & I went to the neighbor island and just relaxed - it'll be nice. :)

I've never seen House, but it seems so many people love it. Maybe I'll check it out. :D Thanks for the suggestion!
