So, I'm doing my ritual...
...of frantically doing laundry and tossing random items of clothes into my suitcase in preparation for tomorrow night's flight to LA. :) And yes, I played hookey from night school tonight (bad Sheri!!) - which is something I almost never do - except that my flight is an unusually early 8:00pm instead of the normal 10:00pm flight that I usually take. I'm afraid with all my procrastination that I'd actually miss it if I didn't stay home to pack tonight...

Speaking of theatre and traveling, my Mom and I finally booked our flights to NYC in January. I know that The Wonderettes probably won't be there yet, but it's been a while since my Mom has been there and I've been wanting to travel with her for a while. Here's our tentative schedule while we're there:

Thursday, Jan 17th: Young Frankenstein
Friday, Jan 18th: Jersey Boys
Saturday, Jan 19th (mat): nothing... yet
Saturday, Jan 19th (eve): Little Mermaid
Sunday, Jan 20th (mat): nothing... yet
Sunday, Jan 20th (eve): Grease

My Mom likes a lot of different shows than Mark & I do, but surprisingly the last time we were there she enjoyed "Avenue Q" and "Brooklyn" (she thought the talent was great and the costumes and the sets were very innovative) and didn't care for "Little Women" and "Wonderful Town" (both of which I thought she'd really like).

I'm off - I have a few Scrabble games going and lately Mark & I have been getting very competitive! ;) :) Big HUGS to everyone and if, for some reason, I can't find an internet connection in LA (which is very unlikely) have a nice weekend!! HUGS!!

Didn't know you were in LA this weekend. Our only theatre is "Everything I Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" at Santa Clarita Rep East on Saturday at 8pm.

I wish I could've seen you guys! :( But my trip was so short and so packed with theatre, I barely had time to eat! :P Maybe we can coordinate on one of my next trips out there - which looks like there may be many in the coming year. :)

Have a safe flight and a wonderful time in LA! I'm looking forward to read about your experiences and, of course, I'm crossing my fingers that you will win the Scrabble games. :) Big hugs and much love to you, Sheri!

What great news! I really hope we'll have a chance to meet while you are in New York!

I loved Brooklyn - but I'm a Kevin Anderson fan and thought the music was great. Little Women was a huge disappointment.

I'm heading to NYC for the weekend right now, and must get my own packing done. Hope YOUR trip is great!

The Wonderettes is going to NY? Woo Hoo! You have to see Mary Poppins too, it's a fun show.

Have a wonderful trip to L.A.!

Second the recommendation for Mary Poppins - it's utterly fantastic. Saw original London cast a couple years back and was totally blown away not just by Bourne's choreography (I do adore Bourne's work) but also by the depth given to the Banks adults. Love the writing on this one - thought I was going for the choreography!
