Getting ready for NYC...
...spent the better part of my morning planning the eating portions of my upcoming trip to NYC with my Mom. :) Since we're flying in on Thursday and have the entire morning and afternoon free on Friday, I thought it might be nice to have brunch at Tavern on the Green in Central Park. I've never actually been there and I thought it would be nice for my Mom to see. :)

I also found a good veggie place in Times Square which I'm pretty sure we'll try to go to more than once while we're there - and we're meeting up with a LJ friend and having dinner at Tony's :) - so it sounds like not only an incredible theatre weekend, but an incredible eating weekend as well. :)

Aside from googling NYC restaurants, I also spent a great deal of time watching clips of Jeff Dunham's (Je-fafa Dun-HAM dot com) "Spark of Insanity" DVD on You Tube - I have to say - I used to love watching his act in the early 90's on A&E, but it's gotten much funnier... And so his humor is a bit un-PC at times, I still love him. :)

I've also been watching Season 3 of "Slings & Arrows" on DVD and I have to say, there's something kinda attractive about Paul Gross, even though he looks MUCH older and almost maniacal...

His Geoffrey is oddly attractive to me and I can't figure out why (maybe it's his intelligence or his passion/madness on the show) - I never especially cared for him in due South - DS was all about Callum Keith Rennie for me, after all...

Well, I'm off to catch up on all of your entries. Hope you're all having a nice weekend! :)

For veggie near Times Square (and easy on the wallet), I recommend Zen Palate - 9th Ave and 48th, I think. (it's on 9th, I just can't remember how far up the cross street is - we always walk over to 9th for restaurants when in NY because it's way cheaper for better food in Hell's Kitchen.)

I'm madly in love with Geoffrey because of his intelligence and passion and insight. The whole "You hate theatre, Darren" thing, the way he works with that guy in accounting in Series 1 fucking around with text, the way he works around and against Henry in Series 2, and his overwhelming compassion and understanding in Series 3, these are why I love him. Of course, everything else is why Ellen can have him - I can't actually deal with him :)

Ah, thanks! I've heard of Zen Palate and have always wanted to try the food there. :) I will definitely take a look - thanks for mentioning it.

I think you hit it on the head when you said that it was his overwhelming compassion and understanding in Season 3 -- that's exactly what I find so attractive about his Geoffrey (along with, of course, the intelligence and the passion/madness thing...) :)

Zen Palate! Zen Palate!

And what's with the pronunciation of "Jeff"? :-)

Oh, now I have to try Zen Palate! :)

And what's with the pronunciation of "Jeff"? :-)

I don't know if you saw his new act with Peanut... :)
