UGH, I hate when this happens...
I woke up this morning before my alarm and for the first couple of seconds I thought it was Saturday. :( It was the happiest, most fleeting 2 seconds of my day. :P Of course depression quickly sunk in when I realized that it was, in fact, Thursday and not even really close to the weekend... :P I think I need another vacation soon and my next LA trip isn't for a while... :P Darn Aloha! :P

Work is still going pretty well - which surprises the heck out of me. Amazing what a change of attitude there has done for my production report... Hopefully that'll put an end to my big boss' "Is Sheri feeling alright?" questions.

My Mom loved the arrangement of flowers that we sent her for her birthday and she did her usual "You should've saved your money!" But I know she really enjoyed getting them :). She told me that she was gushing to the delivery girl and thanking her for them and the girl had a look on her face like - "I didn't buy them for you, I just delivered them". :) I can't explain how nice it is to see my Mom so happy.

And lastly, I saw the most heartbreaking sight as I went to fill in gas today. At the stoplight by the gas station an old man (in his 70's or so) was walking up to cars in the hot sun and trying to sell a bunch of bananas he was holding (and on the wall behind him was a whole box of them.) No one bought any and I just felt bad for him - usually I don't pay much attention to people selling things on the side of the road, but he didn't look desolate or dangerous or anything - all he looked was sad that no one would buy anything from him and some people were just trying to ignore him. If I had stopped at the light I would've bought a bunch... poor man... :(

I thought it was Saturday too when I woke up. At least you still have Saturday to look forward to right? :)

I makes me happy that you love making your mom happy. I love to hear about other people having a good relationship w/their family. :)

I know I would have cried if I saw that man. :( How sad. That sort of thing makes me so grateful for what I do have. Almost makes me feel like I'm not worthy ya know?

Very true! And it's already Friday - so I still have the whole weekend ahead of me. :)

And you know what I like about you? You've got to have one of the biggest hearts I know of. :) I'm so glad that I got the chance to meet you through LJ - it's rare to find someone who cares so much about others - people they don't even know. :) That's such a great quality - I hope you never loose that. And you're right, seeing the man yesterday definitely made me thankful for all the things I have - and puts my little problems like not going to LA for Kevin's concert into perspective.

Please take care and *big hugs*

Thank you Sheri. :)

You're one of the sweetest people I know too. You have a huge heart and care about others so much more than I do I'm sure. It's always a pleasure to read your entries. They make me smile. Now you can say everyday you make at least one person smile. :) I'm glad you took the chance to get to know me here. :) Have a nice weekend. :) *big hugs*

It seems as if there was "something in the wind" - Monika and I already thought Thursday evening that it was Friday evening. Luckily, all of my alarm clocks worked today morning. :)

It's good to hear that your Mom and you were happy. Wish all of you a very nice breakfast. :)

Take care and I wish you a good weekend. :)

It's a good thing all your alarm clocks worked! ;) In the past I've forgotten to set my alarm and just by sheer luck managed to wake up in time for work. But the great news for you is that it already is the weekend! :) Hope you have a good one too! :)

Ohhh I hate waking up during the week and thinking it is the weekend!!! Its such a let down! OR when I fall asleep in the afternoon and wake up in the evening, and panic that its morning and I slept through my alarm... blech!

Well, at least today is Friday! Wee Hoo!!!

It was such a let down! I almost wished I didn't have those two seconds of euphoria earlier - then at least I wouldn't have been disappointed my whole morning. ;) And I've totally done that too - gotten up from a nap in a panic that I was late for work... That's an awful feeling too. :P

But it is Friday! :) Hope you have a good one. Take care.

My heart goes out anytime I see elderly people in the streets. I admit that I have ignored my fair share of street peddlers, but it must have been so sad to see that old man being ignored!

It was! And if I wouldn't have held up a bunch of traffic, I would've stopped and bought something from him. I really can't explain it either - there was something that really struck me about the sad look on his face that just made me feel so bad for him. :(

Hope all is well there with all the rain and the flooding. Please take care of yourself and your lovely family and try to stay dry! :)

My heart always goes out to people like that, too. :(

I'm glad that your Mom liked the flowers! My Mom's birthday is on 18th and we just finished shopping for her two days ago.

You're always so sweet, Amanda. :) And I always have a hard time trying to figure out what to get my Mom - she's like the hardest person to shop for. Luckily she liked the flowers and she's going to love the breakfast on Sunday (Mark & I will too) :) Take care and stay safe out there.
