Altar Boyz - and the most embarrassing moment of my life!
Sorry it's taken me so long to update about my NYC weekend, but it's been absolutely crazy with work. But I couldn't NOT mention my totally amazing and altogether mortifying Altar Boyz experience on Sunday night, though...

First off, I love the show - I'd seen it twice in other venues, but NEVER off-broadway. It always seemed like there were other shows to see while I was in NYC so I never got the chance, at least until last weekend. And what a first experience it was!!

I knew from seeing the show that the "Matthew" pulls up someone from the audience... A girl who he sings "Something About You" to who is the girl who makes Matthew... want to wait. ;) I was in complete and utter shock when Michael Kadin Craig (Matthew) came up to ME and pulled me up on stage! The only thing that I could think of was, "OH MY GOD... Please don't let me fall or trip on the stage."

Thankfully all went well... I don't remember too much about anything in that number, just that I knew that the "Mark" was doing funny things around me (having seen the show before) but being right there on stage, I couldn't see or appreciate it. When the number was over Michael asked my name - which he had to repeat because I was like a deer in headlights at that point. ;) We then took a photo, and then I was allowed to return to my seat. The next couple of jokes were directed at me - which was all done in a good humored way, not meant to make fun of anyone... which I loved.

I think it took until the end of the show for me to really realize what had happened... And after all the shock and the initial embarrassment wore off, I have to say that it made my very first off-broadway Altar Boyz experience something VERY special!

Side note: I LOVE that the guy in the orchestra is posing for the camera as well! :D

Bet you I'm the OLDEST person ever to get pulled up on stage for this!! :)

I'm off to catch up on all of your entries, hope you all have a great weekend!! HUGS!!!
