2008 was an INCREDIBLE year for theatre!!  
All in all, I was fortunate enough to see 61 shows here, in LA, and NYC - which accounted for my 3 trips to NYC, and 8 to LA this year. :) I have compiled a list of the shows that I saw throughout the year (as I always do at this time of year) with the show titles linked to my posts of my reactions to the shows and some things that happened after the show. :)

JANUARY

17: Young Frankenstein at The Hilton (with my Mom - Christopher Fitzgerald was AMAZING!!!!)
18: Jersey Boys at August Wilson Theatre (with my Mom & waytoocoolrev) :)
19: Mary Poppins at New Amsterdam Theatre (with my Mom and about 5,000 10 year old girls!) ;)
19: Little Mermaid at Lunt-Fontaine Theatre (with my Mom - Sherie Rene Scott was incredible! And SIGH - Norm Lewis) :)
20: Is He Dead? at Lyceum Theatre (with my Mom - Norbert Leo Butz was HYSTERICAL!) :)
20: Grease at Brooks Atkinson Theatre (with my Mom - such a disappointment!) :P

FEBRUARY

7: Barefoot In the Park at Diamond Head Theatre (with Mark - a GREAT local production - Todd Coolidge was fantastic!) :)
16: 1776 at Crossley Theatres (with cahwyguy and his family - Leslie was wonderful!! - It was my, overall, 9th time seeing any version of the show)
16: Twice Upon A Time at Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities (saw lindasings there! Misty was wonderful in this!!)
17: Orson's Shadow at Pasadena Playhouse (Woo for Scott Lowell!)
17: Thrill Me at Hudson Backstage (AMAZING, amazing, amazing!!!)

MARCH

1: Aesop Who at Deaf West Theatre (Russell is SOOOO amazing!!!)
1: All Shook Up at Musical Theatre West (Bets and Derek were incredible in this show!!)
2: Thrill Me at Hudson Backstage (my 2nd time! Ran into Steven Stanley there! Alex and Stewart were just as incredible this time!)
2: All Shook Up at Musical Theatre West (my 2nd - with careleswhisper and rripley)
14: I Love You You're Perfect, Now Change at Manoa Valley Theatre (actually pretty good for a small local production)
27: Flower Drum Song at Diamond Head Theatre

APRIL

5: Mask at Pasadena Playhouse (Michelle Duffy is just AMAZING!!! I can't even tell you!!)
5: The Marvelous Wonderettes at the El Portal Forum Theatre (My 8th and last time seeing the original girls at the El Portal)
6: Mask at Pasadena Playhouse (Michelle is just SOOO amazing!!)
12: Flower Drum Song at Diamond Head Theatre (my 2nd time - with my Mom) :)

MAY

10: Miss Saigon in Redondo Beach (Misty was an EXCELLENT Ellen, my favorite yet!)
10: Oliver at Fullerton Civic Light Opera (with Steven - and my first time seeing the show!)
11: Pest Control at the NoHo Arts Center
11: Flora, the Red Menace at Reprise (saw Roger Bean in the audience!) :)
24: Oliver at Fullerton Civic Light Opera
24: Trying at The Colony Theatre (one of the best theatre experiences of my life so far!)
25: Red Dog Howls at The El Portal Theatre (Enjoyable is not the word for this show... Using Pat's term "It disturbed me well")
31: The Producers at Diamond Head Theatre (took my Mom to see the show)

JUNE

21: Beginnings & Endings for Moving Arts (Six short one act plays - Stewart Calhoun was great in this!)
22: The Who's Tommy at Ricardo Montalban Theatre (A pretty all around amazing theatre experience!)
22: Dog Sees God at Hudson Backstage (Nick is - simply put, a genius!)
23: The Man Who Would Be King at the Rubicon Theatre (The reading was great - the best parts were seeing Lowe and the 2 Kevins!)

JULY

4: A Chorus Line at the Ahmanson (Ahhhh! The memories!!)
5: The Who's Tommy at Ricardo Montalban Theatre (VERY different from just two weekends ago! Randomly ran into David Burnham there...)
5: Songs From an Unmade Bed at Celebration Theatre (No Dave Barrus, but still very good)
6: Dog Sees God at Hudson Backstage (Andrea Bowen wasn't in so I saw Megan McNulty as CB's sister - very different with sound in the first act!)
6: Looped at Pasadena Playhouse (Valerie Harper was FREAKING incredible!! And to see Chad Allen on stage...Guh!!)
17: The Wizard of Oz at Diamond Head Theatre (What can I say? It's the Wizard of Oz!)

AUGUST

Wow... nothing. How sad.

SEPTEMBER

18: In The Heights at the Richard Rogers Theatre (Went with Robin. :) Truly one of the best shows I'd EVER seen!)
19: Love Jerry at TBG Theatre (Great performances, but subject matter will be hard to market)
19: The Marvelous Wonderettes at Westside Theatre (How could it be anything less than absolutely amazing??)
20: A Tale of Two Cities at Al Hirschfeld Theatre (It was SOOO great to see Kevin in this!! Randomly ran into Justin there!)
20: A Tale of Two Cities at Al Hirschfeld Theatre (Went with Jessica and Nicole!)
21: [title of show] at Lyceum Theatre (One of the most hysterical shows - randomly ran into Justin there!)
22: The Marvelous Wonderettes at Westside Theatre (With Jessica and Nicole)
23: Heaven in Your Pocket at 45th Street Theatre (A NYMF show - first act was VERY slow, didn't care for too much...)
23: 13 at Bernard Jacobs Theatre (Randomly ran into Justin there!)
24: Jersey Boys at the August Wilson Theatre (Saw Dominic Scaglione's broadway debut)
24: Xanadu at the Helen Hayes Theatre (with Jessica and Nicole - we had on-stage seating and it was a BLAST!!!)
25: All My Sons at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (John Lithgow was fabulous! The show itself, I felt was a bit overrated)
26: Idaho! at 37 Arts Center C (Another NYMF show - the best one I've seen!)
27: A Tale of Two Cities at Al Hirshfeld Theatre (I'm SO glad I got to see Kevin three times on this trip!!)
27: The 39 Steps at the Cort Theatre (Went with the Nuke gang: Jammi, Theresa, Angela, Lisa, Karen, Jessica, and Nicole - VERY funny show! Randomly saw Lea Thompson in the audience)
28: In The Heights at the Richard Rogers Theatre (Just AMAZING!! I just can't tell you!)
28: 13 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (Terrific to see the show evolve! Randomly spotted Gregory Jbarra in the audience)

OCTOBER

DECEMBER

13: The Marvelous Wonderettes at Westside Theatre (My 11th time seeing it!)
13: Dance Dance Revolution at The Ohio Theatre (Van was SO sweet after the show!!)
14: Altar Boyz at New World Stages (OH MY GOD - got pulled up on stage and was the "Something About You" girl!!) :P

Michelle Duffy in "Mask" (No doubt about this one - no one even comes close to this!!)

Alan Mandell in "Trying" (By FAR!!! Possibly my favorite performance - EVER)
Joe Porter in "Dog Sees God" (SOOO moving...)
John Lithgow in "All My Sons"
Chad Allen in "Looped"

My Favorite Leading Female Performance in a Straight Play:
Valerie Harper in "Looped" (FREAKING hysterical... LOVED her performance. I got stomach cramps from laughing so hard...)
Kathleen Chalfant in "Red Dog Howls" (Chilling performance... she disturbed me well...)

Cameron Watson for "Trying" (My most amazing theatrical experience to date - I LOVED IT!)

My Favorite Choreography:
Andy Blankenbuehler for "In The Heights" (Just look at the choreography for "96,000" and you'll see what I mean,... It takes my breath away...)

WOW... that's really nice. Thank you so much for sharing my views of "Looped" with Chad and how nice of him to respond. I became SUCH a huge fan of his after seeing "Save Me" in NYC... He's AMAZINGLY talented.

I'd heard that Chad was going to be reprising his role as Danny in Florida. Sadly, it's too far for me to travel. :( I will, however, be anxiously awaiting the release of the "Save Me" DVD in January. :D

It was a busy, but extremely wonderful year in theatre and I was just so fortunate to have been able to see so many amazing productions! (And thankfully this year I kept track of them as I went, and didn't take 3 hours to compose this post like I did last year. ;)
