Brunch with the in-laws, some graphic woes, and the hot weather returns! :P
Brunch this afternoon was wonderful, but ultimately WAY too filling! :P It was so nice to see Mark's Uncle & Aunt from California... They visit about once a year and we always go to brunch with them at Hale Koa Hotel (which had THE BEST pancakes, BTW) :) My sister-in-law told me when we sat down, "Mom told me to remind you that you liked the pancakes here." :) Gotta love the in-laws. :) We had a nice talk with Mark's Aunt & Uncle who were surprised that I hadn't traveled in over 3 months... "You must be slowing down!" they told me. :)

Been tooling around on the computer for the last few hours trying out new graphics for Kevin's site - none of which I liked so basically I'm still staying with my old layout for now... Been trying some things for Julie Ann's site too... The problem I have with Kevin's site is that not much can be done with the ONE headshot he has - that boy seriously hates taking photos, but really - he hasn't had a new headshot in over 3 years (ever since he left the "Les Mis" tour) - he's REALLY due for another one!

In other news: Apparently Mark has begun to name the geckos in our house... ?? We were sitting in the living room watching TV last night and he pointed to the ceiling and said, "There's Stumpy" as a small lizard with no tail scurried by... ?? I have to say Mark is definitely... interesting, to say the least. ;) But I do love him and his sometimes off beat sense of humor. :)

And UGH - the weather has turned unbearably hot and humid again! :P Sydney spends all of her time sitting in front of the fans in our house, clogging it with her fur. :P Here's a photo of her in her usual position today - blocking the fan from all of us. :P

I'm glad brunch went well. :) I'm sorry it's so hot there. :( That pic of Sydney could make up for the heat though. VERY CUTE!!! :)

Thanks Carrie - I'm hoping the current humid spell doesn't last too long - it's so awful here without an AC. :( And thanks for your kind comments on Sydney's photo. :) She's a ham, I tell you! :)

What an adorable picture of Sydney!

Thank you, Amanda! :) She sits like that all day long! And at my in laws house, they have an air circulator that oscillates really slowly - we actually found her following it so she could be in front of the air at all times... She's too funny. :)

Glad to hear that you had such a nice time. And pancakes - I love them if they are sweet or filled with fruits. :) The picture of Sydney looks so cute. To watch her just could be a little compensation for the humid weather.

Take care.

Pancakes filled with fruits - oh that sounds delicious! :) And watching Sydney in front of the fan certainly makes up for the humid weather. :) Does Lauser like the fan?

That is such a cool picture of Sydney! She really reminds me of our dog Monte in many ways. Monte has a habit of always plopping (is that a word?) himself down right on top of air vents while the air conditioner is running.

I'm glad you had a good brunch! I feel bad for Amanda, because I also am close with her parents, and my parents don't treat her (or myself and Cameron) well at all.

I really was LOL'ing at how Mark was naming the geckos!

Thanks Tom! :)Monte sounds adorable! I can just picture him on top of the air vents when it's really hot. :) And I'm sorry to hear about the way your parents treat your family, I feel very fortunate to have such great in-laws. :) And Mark naming the geckos was pretty funny... If he starts naming the roaches, then we'll be in trouble. ;)

Last year at this time, we should have been naming the spiders outside our house! I swear, there must have been around 50 of these brown spiders that lived in various points around the house. I actually felt a little bad in killing them last year, but I'm not going to this year. The mosquitos are terrible here this summer, and we need all the help we can get!

Geckos loose in the house???? Crawling on the ceiling???? HUH???
Sherishutterbug93 on July 23rd, 2003 12:58 am (UTC)
Re: ?????
Yeah, unfortunately we have a few geckos in our house and it really isn't too bad because they eat the insects... but they get really annoying when they make their little (I don't know what to call it...) "chirping" noises. :( A house in Hawaii without geckos is very rare! ;)

Re: ?????
*LOL* See I didn't know that. *ROTFL* So I am picturing somebody buying geckos like they do here and then letting them run loose in the house. *L* It was quite a picture!
