First of all...
...if you've voted in my poll below... THANK YOU!! I've been having discussions with a friend regarding what makes a show amazing - my friend feels it's ONLY the material (that it could basically be cast with anyone), I feel that it's the actor's interpretation of the material (which is why I will go to see MANY different productions of the same show to see different casts... or why seeing an understudy is a big deal to me.) And maybe she's right and it doesn't matter to most people,... maybe I'm just weird.

Also, I personally would choose a stronger actor over a stronger singer anyday... In my poll example, some people may not think Michael has the strongest voice of the bunch (though I happen to think that he has the strongest everything of the bunch... but that's just me), but I do tend to like his interpretation of the role much more. I realize that's not for everyone, though and some people might prefer what they consider to be the stronger voice...

In any case, thank you SO MUCH to everyone who took the time to vote. :)

Speaking of Michael, in GREAT theatre / vacation news, I was able to change our flights to Sacramento to include a short stopover in LA! I'm SO thrilled!! :) Mark & I will be able to fit in Michael's concert in LA while we're there - I'm SO excited that we'll be in town for this! :D

In non-theatre news, I went to the Dole Cannery theatres tonight to see "Star Trek" at the IMAX with Mark. :) He's a HUGE Star Trek fan, and had been talking about wanting to see the show for some time now. Sadly, I had to walk out of the theater halfway through and wait for him outside... The medication that I'm taking now causes extreme dizziness and all the action of the movie on such a HUGE screen and up so close made me feel ill. I even tried to watch the movie with my eyes closed, but I feared I would become really ill if I stayed in the theatre much longer. :P Mark enjoyed the show, though and that's what really mattered. :)

Tomorrow, Mark & I are taking Cooper to the Pet Expo at Blaisdell Center. :) It will be the first time we're taking Cooper out in public with SO MANY people and dogs - we hope he does well. :)

Hope you all have a nice evening and thanks again for your participation in the my survey!! :)

ETA: Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms on my friends list!

I feel that it's the actor's interpretation of the material.

I too would see it this way.

I'm sorry that you could not finish "Star Trek". :( I'm hoping that medication helps and that you are alright again soon! And I'm glad to hear that Mark enjoyed "Star Trek". :)

Hope you, Mark and Cooper have a great time at the Pet Expo! :) Big hugs to you, Sheri!

Thanks for your comments, Sabine!! I truly believe it's what the actor brings to the role that's important! I've seen two versions of the same show - one I've hated and one I loved and it all had to do with the ways the actors interpreted the roles... Made all the difference - as in the survey with the same song sung by four different performers. :)

Mark loved "Star Trek" and that was what mattered most. He gave me a re-cap of what I missed, so I don't feel too badly about having to walk out...

Hope you had a lovely weekend, Sabine!! Big HUGS to you!!

What? What concert in LA? I wish he has an official site! (or does he?)

Anyway, an interesting fact: Addams Family Musical cast was announced, and the role that Michael played in the workshop will be played by Terrence Mann. Geez I don't see any common between them!

He's doing a concert with Darren Ritchie and Huck Walton (and Daniel Hartman) at the M Bar on the 22nd.

And WHOA! I'd read about Michael doing the reading of Addams Family - Terrence Mann?? Quite a difference there!! Not that I don't like Terrence Mann, but they couldn't be more different!!

I just did a google search of the reading cast and I think that Michael played Lucas in the reading. Not sure, but I think that Terrence Mann plays his father. Who's Wesley Taylor? I think he's playing Michael's role...
