Couple of things...
First, I've waited VERY patiently for June to arrive. And it has.

Sooo... where the hell is the promised new episode of "Kings?" I totally trusted NBC... Dammit. :(

Second, I'm going to LA for a short theatre weekend (no vacation) trip in a couple of weeks. Since I'm no longer allowed vacation, I plan to fly out Friday night,... arrive Saturday morning - see shows on Saturday and then fly out Sunday morning so I can be back at work on Monday... :P Crazy, I know but I'm having to do this if I want to go to LA at all nowadays... :P

My plans for Saturday the 13th of June:

Saturday, June 13th (day): LA Pride (Michael and other performers are singing at about 3:00pm)
Saturday, June 13th (eve): Ring of Fire (to see Michelle Duffy!) at La Mirada Theatre. :)

I know I asked this over on FB, too, but is there anyone in the LA area interested in attending Pride with me on the 13th and staying to see Eden Espinosa, Michael, and some other Upright Cabaret folks perform that afternoon? If so, I'd love to meet up with you! :) Please let me know!

And finally, this is Bets' last week as Suzy in the NY cast of "The Marvelous Wonderettes"... It'll be sad to go to NYC and NOT be able to see her! But I'm so glad that she'll get to come home to LA!

Hope you're all having a nice week!! HUGS!

Odd question: How do you find the affordable airfares? We might be going to Maui in late August, and the best I'm finding is just under $500 with fees (and $1500 for 3 people is an expensive vacation). Any tips?

I check airfares and airfare trends daily at sidestep.com... I also check airfarewatchdog.com daily. Mostly it's just luck. :) I wouldn't pay $500 a person for a flight from LA to Maui... that's outrageous! Recently I found a flight from HNL to LAX for under $200 (which is what I'm using in July) :) There are good fares out there, but it's all luck and timing.

I'll have to look into that (I don't check airfares, except for work travel, while at work). Basically, we have a timeshare at the Whaler (Kaanapali) the last two weeks of August. I just got confirmation that its not going to be used this year, so I'm exploring going. When I looked at the rates recently, the best was $492 on Useless Air, and involved flying from LAX to PHX, and thence to OGG. It was a bit higher to do the more traditional LAX - HNL - OGG. I know you're familiar with the LAX - HNL. Are there cheap interisland fares, or since that's now a monopoly are those really high?

Hi Daniel, sorry I was so late in replying to this and I guess you won't be needing an answer anymore... but inter-island flights are relatively cheap... they occasionally have $39 one way specials but usually the flights are the first or the last flights of the day.

one more week, but I don't trust NBC as far as I can throw them so I don't believe we'll get more than one more episode before it's gone forever.

I have to agree! Although they are going to be showing the next episode on the 13th, my fear is that's all it will be. I just hope they follow through on their promise to show ALL the remaining episodes.
