Sydney has vet anxiety. :(
Today I had a difficult time ordering Sydney's heartworm medication from the vets office. They told me that she was long overdue for her check up and they wouldn't give me another six month dosage until I made a vet appointment for her. So I scheduled one for early October... I'm all for the health and well being of Sydney, but the last time we took her to the vet, she had such anxiety that she physically got sick from all the stress. :( If seeing the vet is going to make her sick like that again, I'd just as soon go to petmeds.com or something for her heartworm medication and maybe see the vet only once every year and a half or so. :( I know they're only looking out for her best interest, but poor Sydney... :(

My sales manager at work has been trying to meet with me for the past few days to go over my "numbers" and something tells me it isn't going to be a very good meeting. :( He came in to see me on Friday, but I had so many customers that I didn't have the time to sit with him - so he rescheduled for Tuesday. :P My sales manager gives me so much stress just by talking with me for a couple of minutes... He's a very INTENSE man and he seems to transfer his stress to everyone he talks to. Don't get me wrong, he's a very nice guy, but I feel my blood pressure start to rise every time I talk with him! :P Hopefully tomorrow's meeting isn't too awful.

On a much happier note - Misty saw the site and sent over a very nice email :). She's such a dear! :) I've been extremely blessed to have done sites for such wonderful and talented people. :)

Lastly, I just noticed that kaylea was on my friend's list yesterday so I just wanted to welcome her to my journal! :) Any friend of Carrie's is a friend of mine. :)

Did you tell the vet about Sydney's anxiety? I've heard they make doggie valium or something that makes them less anxious... it might be worth asking abougt...

No, I haven't yet... But I will bring it up when I call to confirm her appointment once we get back from LA. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Poor Sydney! That is so sad. See... pets are just like people... they get scared going to the doctor for things that will make them uncomfortable just like us! My cat HATES the vet. When I hold her there she goes into dead weight mode - she feels like 10 pounds heavier then she wraps her paws around my neck and holds on for dear life. Poor animals.

I hope today isnt so bad with your manager. :)

Your poor cat! :( Sydney used be terrified of car rides because as a puppy we'd only take her in the car to go to the vet. :( She would get car sick all the time out of fear. Now that we take her other places in the car, she's okay with the ride, but once she gets close to the vet's office - she's terrified all over again. :( I agree...poor pets! :(

Thanks for your good thoughts about my meeting today. :) Hopefully I won't start to develop "sales manager anxiety"... :P

Poor Sydney! We're taking our cat Annie to the vet on Saturday and I know she's going to freak out. This is our cat who practically lives on a kitchen cabinet above the refrigerator because she's so terrified of everyone and everything. We've had her for six years.

Poor Annie. :( How does she get along with your other cats and with the Huskies? I hope all goes well with her vet appointment this Saturday, sometimes the emotional strain of a vet visit is just as hard on the owners as it is on the pets... :(

She gets along with one other cat (Bailey) who we had before her, but she's wary of everyone else who came after her. She is terrified of one of the huskies, but doesn't seem to mind the other one.

She's got lots of emotional issues, but when it's just you and her one and one, she's the best cat. :)

Poor Sydney. :(

I'm glad Misty liked the page!!! :)

Thanks, Carrie. :) Hopefully she'll be okay this time when we take her. Seems like she needs more medical attention from her vet visits. :P

And Misty is a sweet person. I was worried what she would think, but she was very supportive and even offered to help with updates. :)

POOR POOR Sydney! My cat knows what's gonna happen when he sees the carrier and he runs under the bed. No one can get to him there!

Thanks, Stacey. I think animals know when they're headed for a bad place... poor things. :(

Poor Sydney. *hugs her* Lauser also had so much fear. I don't know a reason but things were going from bad to worse and in the end it nearly was impossible to give him his vaccination because I couldn't hold him. Also, even if no-one believes it, Lauser can be evil and so not only Lauser felt fear but also the veterinarian. When she wanted to use the muzzle I changed the veterinarian. Since then it's much better with Lauser. It seems that he likes "his doc" who is understanding, so e. g. Lauser has not to stand on the table if he gets his vaccination but "his doc" is kneeling on the ground then. :) I wish I would know something to make it easier for you and Sydney to visit the vet. Perhaps, if it's possible, a short walk before/after the visit so that she thinks of something nice, too.

I'm glad that Misty likes the site. :)

I hope things with the sales manager turned out well and that you had a nice day, nevertheless. *hugs*

Thanks Sabine! :) I just gave Sydney your hug and she was very happy. :) Sorry to hear that Lauser was so afraid of the vet too, it must've been hard on you. :( It was a good thing that you switched vets - this new one seems to be really understanding and perhaps dogs can sense that. :) I will try the walk before and after the appointment - that's a great idea! :)

And thanks for the nice thoughts on my meeting with my sales manager. :) Take care and I hope the gloomy weather has improved for you up there! *hugs* to you and Lauser! :)
