Relaxing day off...
...there's a certain time each morning that the sun comes in my window that I can't see my computer screen at all - so between those hours each day I usually clean the house, run errands, etc. Today I did some cleaning, went to the market, and picked up a few books from Borders - kananigirl, when did they change the layout of the Waikele Borders? I couldn't find a darn thing there today! :P

It was actually just nice to kind of relax and spend the day catching up on things. Sydney seems to be doing much better today. :) She isn't totally herself yet, for some odd reason, but she did eat today and she jumped on the couch several times so that's a good sign. Maybe I'm a little too paranoid when it comes to the dog, but I just couldn't bear it if something happened to her. :(

My in-laws are on their trip this week (to Texas) and won't be home for a while. No news on my mother-in-law, though I found out her surgery isn't on the 20th (Mark wasn't too sure of the date) - they won't even be home until the 23rd... And now I found out my Mom went in for some tests on her kidneys and had to get a scan the other day. Seems the doctors think it's something more serious than an infection since the antibiotics that they gave her didn't work. She finds out the test results on Friday - we're all just hoping it's nothing serious... What's with all the health stuff happening to my family these days? :(

Some theatre news (because it's a good escape) - Nick DeGruccio - man, he's everywhere - directing everything! :) I totally love Nick (again, the nicest, sweetest, warmest man I've ever met) and he's extremely talented but when I saw his name on casting notices for "Fantasticks" in Vancouver the same time as "Clutter" is running at the Colony AND "Scarlet Pimpernel" at Cabrillo which overlaps "La Cage" at Musical Theatre West I was thinking... "Huh?" ;) I'd love to see ANYTHING he directs, though - and I thought "Clutter" would be a good opportunity (though I think he said he might not be directing it when I talked to him in Laguna) since I'll be in LA in Feb to see Kevin in... well,...something. ;)

And a side note: Mark just killed one of those HUGE Hawaii cockroaches in our bathroom. :P Most bugs I can deal with, but the HUGE ass flying cockroaches we have here are disgusting! I usually call Mark to kill those. :P This one was about the size of a credit card - I kid you not! :P

Ahhhh, a CREDIT CARD SIZED COCKROACH?!?!? I couldn't deal!! lol, When my mom and I stayed at the Milford in NYC a few weeks ago, right as we were getting ready for bed a huge cockroach started climbing the wall and I *SCREAMED* because bugs just freak me out, especially when I'm sleeping and I know they're there, lol. When I was in 7th grade, my lovely math teacher told me a story about a woman who fell asleep and a spider laid eggs on her cheek, and the woman got this bump on her cheek, so when she went to the Doctor adn got the bump cut off, dozens of baby spiders ran out of it. *SHUDDER* I go crazy just thinking about it, lol, I'm sure that was the story you wanted to hear to end your day. :-p

Bugs freak me out too, especially LARGE cockroaches and spiders!!! :P And BLECH!! on that spider story - sounds like a horror movie - that's just too disgusting... :P I'm sleeping with the covers over my face from now on... :P

Sheri, it's been going on about a month or so. After they moved everything to the book side, I haven't really been able to find the music I want. Even more so now that Towers don't have a Classical music section.

We have a huge cockroach in our house, my sisters started screaming when they saw it. *L* Yep, only in Hawaii, right Sheri?

About a month? Whoa, I guess that tells you how often I go to Borders. :) I had the hardest time finding anything yesterday and I must've looked foolish wandering around the store reading all the signs on the ends of the book cases. :P

And I have to say, I think only Hawaii breeds those HUGE flying roaches... Lucky us... Blech! :P

I'm sorry to hear about your mom now! When it rains, it pours, huh? :( I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers as well.

Thanks, Amanda. I can't believe this is all happening at once. :( Hopefully both Mom's will be fine. Thanks for your prayers. :)

WOW! A huge bug! I guess not all is tropical and beautiful in Para-
dice! Yes! I know what you mean about health things, when it rains it pours, sometimes it hails. But remember just like the weather it
can look dark rain, rumble lightening, and it can all be for nothing and nothing bad really happens, other than a bad scare!
Have they thought of a possiblity of a kidney stone with your Mom, is she in lots of pain? Sometimes they act up, then settle down.
I have had the same things happen to me! Glad Sydney is better!
I will keep everyone in my thoughts and prayers!

The reason they checked her in the first place was that she was having really bad back pain (that wasn't muscle related) and they thought it might be an infection in her kidneys. They put her on antibiotics, but later ordered more tests. We're hoping it's nothing serious, but I'm a constant worry-wart about these things. :P Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, Barb. :)
