Only good news... :)
I spoke with the CTA people about the problem with my tuition (they quoted one price over the phone and ended up charging me $500 more when the invoice came after I took my first class) :P and after weeks of talking with them over the phone about it, they finally agreed to give me the tuition they had quoted me. :) I'm very relieved because I really didn't want to have to drop my classes and that's what I would've done if they didn't stick to their original quote - because I couldn't afford it. My next set of classes start up again on Monday. :) And though I'm excited about it, it's a networking class (mainly back-end stuff) and will force me to use the other side of my brain (the side that I don't really like using.) :P

Mark called the vet today to get more pills for Sydney and she told him that Sydney no longer needs to be on the antibiotics! :) She's still on the Actigall for her liver, but it's such good news that our pessimistic vet thinks she's well enough to stop her other pills. :) I can't believe that just three weeks ago we thought she wouldn't even be with us for the holidays. :( Thanks again to everyone for all your support through her illness and for all your good thoughts and prayers for her! :)

In Thanksgiving news - I almost went insane at the grocery store buying a pie to take to my uncle's house tomorrow night. There were so many people there, it was ridiculous! Since I'm the world's least domestic person, I bought a Ted's bakery chocolate cream pie to take with us. :) Hopefully my relatives aren't looking forward to a traditional dessert like pumpkin pie or anything... I guess I'm still having a little bit of trouble with this traditional cuisine - I'm just not used to it. ;) Luckily my family loves chocolate so it shouldn't be a problem. :)

And I guess Kevin's still in LA. Not sure when he's leaving, but he did say that he'll be spending his birthday in NYC, so he should be leaving sometime this weekend. I can't wait to see him in the show! I'm looking forward to seeing him in his "Trevor Graydon" suit and seeing him dance with Angela Christian (and I adore Kevin but he's not really a dancer. Though I have to say I was REALLY impressed with his dancing in "Follies") :) AND hearing him sing "The Speed Test". :) Is it January yet? :P

I bought Ted's too! Chocolate Haupia!!

Glad to hear sydney is doing well.

Hey does the cta class thing have a website for info I can look at? it sounds interesting. I really need to learn dreamweaver.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh the chocolate haupia! :) A very good choice! :) I was stuck trying to decide between the two but good ole' chocolate won out for me. :)

And CTA does have a website. I was thinking of taking some graphics classes after my CIW classes (cause I REALLY need them!) but I don't know since they're so expensive.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too! :)

Thanks, Carrie. :) I'm glad it worked out too, I'd hate to have to drop my classes. And Sydney is her old self again! :) Mark & I couldn't be happier. :) Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! :) Please take care! *hugs*

*LOL* Of course you'd have to buy a Ted's Chocolate Cream Pie. I figure Sunnyside is out of the question? ;)

I made 2 pic crust, so...it's pumpkin for me.

Ted's bakery pie is SO delicious! :) Though Sunnyside would've been REALLY good too! But, heck if I'm driving all the way out there in traffic. :( My family would've loved it, though. :)

Pie is always best though when it's homemade. :) Your pie sound really delicious! All this talk about food is making me really hungry! ;)

And Sydney is back to her old self. She tried to jump on the bed this morning and only half made it, though. After we found out she was okay, we had to smile a bit because at least she was trying. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Rayna!! *HUGS*

Happy Thanksgiving!

I went to the store yesterday and inside the store was quiet enough at that point but the parking lot was a war zone. Honking, impatience, people almost ramming their cars into others! Crazy.

I'm soooOoooo glad to hear the good news about little Sydney!
Sherishutterbug93 on November 27th, 2003 11:46 am (UTC)
The traffic is just terrible this time of year! It took me an hour to get to the freeway from my branch yesterday (I guess it doesn't help that I work across the street from Ala Moana and that Daiei is on the other side of the street). :P

And we're so thankful about Sydney getting better. :) We can hardly believe that she was so sick just a few weeks ago. And by looking at her, you'd never be able to tell. :)

Hope you, Fred, Erik, Ginger and your entire family have a great Thanksgiving! :)

It will be January, soon. :D

I'm so glad to hear the good news, and esp. this about Sydney. :)

Hope you've a nice day.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. :)

Yay! I can hardly wait to go back to NYC! :)

Thanks for all your good thoughts for her, Sabine. :) They must've worked because she's back to her old self again. :)

Thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes. Do you have a similar tradition / custom in Germany? :) Hope you have a nice day and glad to hear that you had a nice walk with Lauser last night. Give him a *HUG* for me, please. :)

I don't know if it's perhaps a little similar: we've got a "harvest festival", what is always on the first Sunday in October with special church services. It is, I think, to say thank you for the harvest and to beg for a good new harvest. I heard that people in some areas celebrate it with a party. I can't remember that in the town where I'm living ever was a special celebration and also my family never celebrated it in a special way.

I just gave Lauser your hug and he enjoyed it. :) It was raining here and so I hope you don't mind that he still was a little wet. ;)

Hope you have a nice day. :)

I'm glad that the tuition problem got all worked out for you! I know that you were really looking forward to continuing these classes and now you can.

I would take a chocolate pie over a pumpkin pie any day of the week!

Have a great Thanksgiving!

I'm so happy that they worked out the tuition problem too! I was worried since there was no way I could afford the classes, but really needed to take them to get my certification. I'm really looking forward to going back to class on Monday. :)

And it must've been the chocoholic in me that steered me toward the chocolate cream and away from the pumpkin pie yesterday. ;) Hope you, Tom, and Cameron have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! Big *HUGS* to all of you! :)

That's fantastic news that you don't have to pay the extra fees on your course and also wonderful that Sydney is off her antibiotics.
Sherishutterbug93 on November 27th, 2003 11:43 pm (UTC)
Thanks, Carrie! I was so thankful, it was a day for good news yesterday. :) And Sydney being better this holiday season is the best gift of all! :) Hope you have a nice weekend. Please take care! :)
