UGH - neck pain...
...My neck / shoulder on my right side is beginning to act up on me again. :( I think it may have something to do with the fact that I've been sharing my pillow with Sydney again. ;) She isn't able to make it on the bed by herself yet, but she can jump off the bed and that's probably more important. But she's been hogging my pillow again the past couple nights and I've been sleeping in contorted positions in order to accommodate her. It is nice to have her back, though. :)

And the other day I was feeling the little patch of exposed skin on her side that was shaved when she was sick (because Mark told the vet he felt a lump there and they wanted to check it - luckily it just turned out to be a HUGE bruise from all the fluid injections she was given) and it's starting to feel stubbly. The fur that's growing back seems to be harder and more coarse and Mark is afraid that she'll have one patch of really thick, hard fur sticking out of her side and soft fur all around it. ;)

Tomorrow we plan to go to Punchbowl to visit my Dad. It's his birthday tomorrow and I bought him a little bouquet of flowers and a mini-balloon. One would think that each year that passes, not having him around on his birthday would get easier... It's been more than 12 years since he passed away and it hasn't gotten easier yet. :(

I'm sorry, Sheri. I'm sure that day will never get any easier to get through, but at least you are honoring your Dad's memory by remembering his birthday.

Sydney will look awfully funny if her fur does grow in thicker in that one spot! :)

Thanks, Amanda. I know if there's anyone here who understands, it's you. :(

On a sillier note, Sydney would look hilarious if her fur grew in that way! ;)

I think it is wonderful that you are visiting your dad on his birthday. I am sure he knows you are doing that. =) I am sure it is difficult, but the fact that you are keeping him alive in memories, that is the best way to cope, I believe. I hope it is a nice visit.

Neck pain, eh? I know a great massage therapist! *grin* Too bad you don't live closer.

Thanks so much for your kind words. :)

And it's a shame I didn't live closer. I'd hire you in a second! :)

You're welcome. =)

And thanks! I would have such a hige client base if I lived near all of my online friends. ;)

I'm sorry, Sheri. You are in my thoughts. *Hugs*

The fur that's growing back seems to be harder and more coarse...
Sometime a vet had to shave a little part my first Sheltie's fur and, when it began to grow he had such a spot for some time. When he had got his long fur again there you only could feel the difference. It took some time but he got back his normal fur. :)

I hope your neck / shoulder is feeling better soon.

Please, take care. *Hugs*

Thank you Sabine, you're very sweet! And it's nice to know that Sydney's fur will start to feel normal after a while. :) We were worried about it. Thanks for your nice and I hope you have a nice week. Take care and big *HUGS* to you! :)

I hope tomorrow goes okay for you, those things are never easy and there's always those dates like birthdays where it doesn't seem to get easier at all.

Tess was shaved under her chin on the really long fur onher neck and it took sbsolutely ages to grow back and when it was short and stubbly it did feel that it was going to be very coarse.

Thanks for your nice thoughts, Carrie. :)

How long did it take for Tess' fur to grow back? That's another thing we worried about with Sydney. For a while it looked like it may not grow back and that she'd have a bald spot on her side. :P I'm glad that everything is okay with Tessa - please give her a *HUG* for me. Take care.

It took ages with Tess - about 3 or 4 months in the end. Then it suddenly seened to grow all of a sudden - maybe she was starting to feel the cold as winter approached!

You'll be in my thoughts tomorrow Sheri. *hugs* I'm sorry that it doesn't get any easier. :( At least you have the strength to go and honor your dad the way he deserves. *hugs* Take care.

Thanks, Carrie. You always say the sweetest things. Please take care and *HUGS* to you too. I hope you have a great rest of your weekend.

You may have pulled or stretched a tendon in your back or scapula area. I've actually done that before in my sleep, and I know that it stings sharply and is quite annoying. Sometimes it feels like it has gone away, only to reappear later on. You could try resting on a heating pad, but I realize that you might not even have a reason to own a heating pad in Hawaii.

I'm sure Sydney's fur will eventually grow back normally. It will probably take a little bit of time though. I remembered thinking the same thing after we got our dogs fixed and they had their bellies shaved.
Sherishutterbug93 on November 30th, 2003 09:35 pm (UTC)
I think I might have something similar. It happened once before when I used to share my pillow with Sydney and then it seemed to go away for a while. I should look into getting a heating pad (and you're right, we don't have one) ;)

And it's good to know that Sydney's fur will grow back, we were a bit worried at first because there was a huge hole in her side where they shaved it. :P

I'm sorry about your neck pain--ouch! That has definitely gotta be cute tho', Sydney sharing your pillow. Makes me smile.

Today is the 3rd anniversary since Fred's father passed away. Same day as your dad's birthday. :/ *hugs*
Sherishutterbug93 on November 30th, 2003 09:37 pm (UTC)
I have to admit that my neck pain is lessened by the fact that I do get to share my pillow with Sydney again. :) I missed her sleeping next to me.

I'm sorry that today was a hard day for you and Fred as well. Please take care. *hugs*
