Just got through watching...
..."Line of Fire" and it was a rather disturbing episode. Is it just me or is it unnerving that a crime boss could go from smelling potato salad in one scene and seem so human to totally deceiving his two poor henchmen into thinking they weren't dead ducks - and then ordering their hit? Really, this episode was supposed to have been the third of the season, but I guess they decided to switch the order with next week's show. :P I remember Kevin talking about this as the one that was the least character oriented. Wonder why they chose to show this one first? Still loving Julie in the show, though and her character's tough attitude. Nearly had a heart attack in the beginning when she pushed down that bike rider with her car door, though. Yikes... :P

In non-TV news, I've been having a horrible time finding a winter coat (AGAIN!) for my NYC trip in January. I guess there isn't much of a market for heavy coats here and the sales people that I speak with STILL look at me like I'm crazy when I ask, but don't people here travel and need winter clothes before they get to wherever it is they're going? :P

And we had our annual Christmas "visit" today at work. Every year the CEO of our company and his team of upper management goes around to all the branches on the island and shakes everyone's hand and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas. In preparation for their visit we usually have to clean up, hide all of our food, etc. It's become known as the "walk-through" and people look forward to it as much as they look forward to driving home in Christmas traffic. :P I do have to say that it's nice that they make an effort to wish everyone a nice holiday season, though - very few companies have management who will take the time to meet every employee individually and wish them well. :)

And over the weekend I bought the "Eloise at the Plaza" DVD. Partly to see Gavin Creel, partly... well, okay I should just say: to see Gavin Creel. It was a cute show - very Disney - but I stayed up much too late last night watching it... I was exhausted the entire day at work. And the episode of "Line of Fire" was a little too disturbing tonight and it doesn't look like I'll be going to sleep anytime soon. Tomorrow I'll be a zombie... :P
Current Mood: Still kinda disturbed :P

You tried looking at Ross'? I saw some heavy coats there, some of them were leather though... I figure it wouldn't hurt to look over there, next time you go. Or you can always order online?
Sherishutterbug93 on December 10th, 2003 11:09 pm (UTC)
I haven't looked at Ross' yet. And ordering online is a great idea. Though I'm always scared because I rarely buy things without trying them on since I'm so short - it's hard to see if things will fit me right. :P But I should check just in case. :) Thanks for your suggestions! :)

Yep I know exactly what you mean about being short and trying out stuff, cause you're not sure about it fitting right. :-P So I guess that's the bad part about buying a winter coat. Unless you go up there and find one?

wait till after new years
hey.. my friend used to ship winter clothes to her mainland friends from Hawaii! The sales are bigger on winter wear, as they really don't need the clothes in Hawaii. Try Ross, Gap, or the stores at Waikele. A friend moved to NYC in Jan last year, and got a great bargain for a good coat at one of the stores in Waikele..

Re: wait till after new years
Waikele! :) Good idea, Smitha! :) I think I'll check there this weekend. Thanks for the advice! :)

I got the most awesome Christmas card, newletter, and calendar in the mail yesterday! Would you know anything about that? You and
Mark are just too cute, and you make a wonderful couple! Of course
Sydney is cute too, but that just does without saying! Syd looks just like a smaller version of Mort. I loved those return address
stickers too, did you make those. You certainly brightened up my
day yesterday. Thanks! It really cheered me up! Everything was so
cute! BTW, how is Mark feeling now? Is he healed up after the surg
ery, or at least comfortable?
Sherishutterbug93 on December 10th, 2003 11:12 pm (UTC)
I'm glad that you got the package that I sent. :) Thanks for your sweet comments. :) And Mark is feeling so much better now, thanks so much for asking. :) His wound is still open and I have to re-dress it daily, but he seems to be doing so much better and not in any real pain, so that's good. :) Hope all is going well up there. Please take care!

Next time when you are looking for a winter coat you should come over here - esp. right now I'm sure you will find something. :) But, of course, you are always welcome.

Hope all of you are all right and that you had a nice day. :)

Heehee - I'd love to go up there and look for a winter coat! :) Then I could visit a certain special LJ friend and my favorite online doggie! ;)

Hope you're doing well. Please take care. :)

Thank you so much for the card, the letter and the calendar. It was wonderful. :) Roger says thanks too. :)

Line Of Fire was a little disturbing, but still pretty good. Julie is the cutest thing ever. :)

I hope you can find the coat you're looking for. :)
Sherishutterbug93 on December 10th, 2003 11:18 pm (UTC)
I'm so glad that you received my package and that you liked it! :) You and Roger are too sweet! :)

And your comment about Julie had to be one of the highlights of my day! It really made me smile! Julie's a sweetheart and she comes across so well on TV - thank you so much for watching the show! :)

And I hope I find a coat too... NYC in January for someone like me who thinks 60 degrees is cold will probably freeze to death! ;P

Was I suppose to send you my address? I feel silly if I was suppose to...

Back to that darn essay that's nagging me.
Sherishutterbug93 on December 10th, 2003 11:20 pm (UTC)
I'd love it if you could send me your address so I could send you a Christmas card. :) You could email me at: shutterbug93@yahoo.com if you'd like. :)

Hope your essay is going well. :)

Where I used to work, the CEO would visit every facility in the country once a year. It was known as "Founders Day", and it was supposed to be a celebration/party type thing, but it was most definitely more of an inspection where our GM and facility manager would drive everyone insane with preparations.

We just got your package today!! Thank you very much for the really cool calendar and newsletter. You and Mark look great together! :)
Sherishutterbug93 on December 10th, 2003 11:25 pm (UTC)
Same with us! The preparations for the annual visit are ridiculous considering management is usually only around our area for a few minutes - hardly enough time to see that we stashed a tin of popcorn behind the copy machine. ;)

And THANK YOU so much for the package that we received in the mail today! It was so thoughtful of you and Amanda to send us a toy for Sydney! She loves it and refuses to put it down! :) THANK you both so much! :) And I'm so glad that you've already received our card - that was really fast! :)
