Happy New Year, everyone...

I can't believe I slept until 9:30am this morning! Even harder to believe is the fact that I actually stayed up past midnight and was able to see the ball drop in Times Square on TV. :)

Yesterday was such a whirlwind day! I went to work with a sad feeling since I knew it would be my last day working with the wonderful people at my branch and my boss, who have all become like family to me. :( I told very few people that I was leaving because good byes make me sad, however a few people found out anyway. I was greeted with leis (beautiful ginger & orchid leis - I felt like it was graduation!), balloons, and gifts. The branch bought me a little "Forever Friends" Precious Moments figurine for my desk (since they know that I collect them) and got me a scarf and gloves for all the trips to NYC that I will be taking this year. :) It was so thoughtful of them to get me such meaningful gifts! They also all signed a HUGE (poster size) going away card and bought Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory and had a little going away party after work. It was so sweet of them to do! My two friends (who both no longer work at the bank - but I still keep in touch with) also got together and got me a beautiful tower photo frame for my new desk. It was so sweet of everyone, I'm going to miss them all so much! :(

After work, we picked up my Mom and headed to my in-laws house for New Year's eve. It was really nice to see everyone there. As usual, there were a lot of people there - all of Mark's relatives, my in-law's family friends and their children, etc. Sydney made sure she went around to everyone and made them feel guilty for not giving her food. ;) We also spoke with Mark's friend and his wife who were there that night who said their sheltie had health problems and almost died back in the later half of last year too. :( Their dog is fine now, but had a uterus infection, and had to undergo a series of operations. :( Poor dog! :( Must've been a bad year for shelties. :(

I hope you all had a safe and happy New Year. :) I'm off to play with my fuzzy dog (who looks like a powder puff because she was recently washed) :) and upload more photos to Julie Ann's site. Happy New Year, everyone! Hope that your 2004 is safe and prosperous! :) Big *HUGS*
