Happy New Year, everyone...
I can't believe I slept until 9:30am this morning! Even harder to believe is the fact that I actually stayed up past midnight and was able to see the ball drop in Times Square on TV. :)

Yesterday was such a whirlwind day! I went to work with a sad feeling since I knew it would be my last day working with the wonderful people at my branch and my boss, who have all become like family to me. :( I told very few people that I was leaving because good byes make me sad, however a few people found out anyway. I was greeted with leis (beautiful ginger & orchid leis - I felt like it was graduation!), balloons, and gifts. The branch bought me a little "Forever Friends" Precious Moments figurine for my desk (since they know that I collect them) and got me a scarf and gloves for all the trips to NYC that I will be taking this year. :) It was so thoughtful of them to get me such meaningful gifts! They also all signed a HUGE (poster size) going away card and bought Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory and had a little going away party after work. It was so sweet of them to do! My two friends (who both no longer work at the bank - but I still keep in touch with) also got together and got me a beautiful tower photo frame for my new desk. It was so sweet of everyone, I'm going to miss them all so much! :(

After work, we picked up my Mom and headed to my in-laws house for New Year's eve. It was really nice to see everyone there. As usual, there were a lot of people there - all of Mark's relatives, my in-law's family friends and their children, etc. Sydney made sure she went around to everyone and made them feel guilty for not giving her food. ;) We also spoke with Mark's friend and his wife who were there that night who said their sheltie had health problems and almost died back in the later half of last year too. :( Their dog is fine now, but had a uterus infection, and had to undergo a series of operations. :( Poor dog! :( Must've been a bad year for shelties. :(

I hope you all had a safe and happy New Year. :) I'm off to play with my fuzzy dog (who looks like a powder puff because she was recently washed) :) and upload more photos to Julie Ann's site. Happy New Year, everyone! Hope that your 2004 is safe and prosperous! :) Big *HUGS*

That was so very sweet of your co-workers. :) It may have been a bad year for shelties, but at least you still have Sydney. :) I hope that this new year is a wonderful one for you, Mark and Sydney. :)

It was so sweet of them! I miss them all already and I haven't even started my new job yet! ;) And how very true - I'm so thankful that we still have Sydney in our lives! She's such a fuzzy blessing! :)

Wow, what a wonderful going away party you had! Those presents were all so nice and thoughtful, too.

I think it's really neat that your Mom goes to Mark's family's house for celebrations. Sometimes I wish that Tom's family lived closer so that our parents could all interact more. When they come to visit, they always go to my parents' house for dinner, but that's about the extent of it since they live so far away.

Have a great new year!

My co-workers are so wonderful, I know that they will be the thing I'll miss the most about my old job!

My Mom and Mark's parents get along really well, but it was only recently that she started joining the family celebrations (my Mom's kinda shy). My in-laws will have my Mom over for dinner a lot, sometimes more than they have Mark & I over! :P

Wow, what a cool last day. I'm glad your coworkers made it a happy memorable day to help ease the sadness of leaving!

How great that your co-workers bought you gifts that you'll really appreciate.

Ha, I can just imagine how Sydney must look. Don't Shelties go wonderfully frizzy when they're wet!

My co-workers are wonderful! I'm going to miss them all! :(

And Sydney looked so frizzy after her bath. :) She reminded us of that old Pink Panther cartoon where he gets caught in the drier by mistake... She was just a big ball of fuzz. :)

We actually got to sleep in until 9:30 too! The most amazing part of that is that Cameron actually allowed us to sleep that long. He's usually such an early riser. I have a question for you Sheri. Since you are in Hawaii, didn't the ball fall in Times Square at 6:00 your time? Or perhaps they ran it on a delay? Just curious!!

I know how difficult it can be departing with co-workers you've worked with for a while. We had very little turnover in our office before I was laid off, so I worked with practically the same group of people for over 5 years. I'm sure you'll adjust well and fit in just fine with your new branch! :)

I'm so glad you guys got to sleep in this morning! :) And they show that New Year's Rockin' Eve show delayed for us since we're so time zone challenged out here. ;) By the time we were celebrating the New Year, the East Coast was already fast asleep. :P

And thanks so much for the words of encouragement for my new job. I hate to admit it, but I'm a little nervous since I haven't had to worry about new co-workers or a new job in nine years or so. :P
