Well, I did it...
...my hair is now short with REALLY noticeable highlights (I feel almost blonde). :o I'm actually more okay with it than I thought I'd be and it feels so much lighter (weight wise) - though I have to say that I was a bit sad to see the ponytail that the hairdresser initially cut off. :( Mark likes it - he's always liked shorter hair and has been trying to get me to cut it for a while now. :) I have to say that I'm happy that Mark notices things like haircuts, etc. My friend Susan recently cut her hair as well and her boyfriend didn't even notice the difference for several days...Men! :P

While I was at the mall for my hair appointment, I did some last minute shopping for my NYC trip. Five days and counting! :) Woo hoo! My Mom said that she was watching the Today show on Friday and it was 4 degrees... A poor Hawaii girl could freeze to death up there! :( When Mark & I were there last February it was 12 degrees... It's hard to believe since I've been sitting at my computer all day with the fan on here. :P

And I'm trying to start a letter writing campaign for "Line of Fire" after I saw an article posted on the TV Tome site. Apparently it's not doing as well as they would've expected in the ratings (hard to do as a mid-season replacement) and they need support from the public. I've been asking everyone I know to help out in this effort if possible -

What they're looking for is people to email, write, or call ABC to let them know that they watch the show and that they'd like to see it continue into the regular season, or that they'd follow the show to another date and time slot if it moved.

Here are the addresses:

Email - netaudr@abc.com

Snail Mail -
ABC, Inc.
500 S. Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521-4551

Phone number - (818) 460-7477

Sorry, this ends the public service announcement portion of my LJ. :P I just hope the series gets picked up for the regular season, it's a pretty good show and of course I'm biased and only want the best for Julie.

Well, I'm off to watch "Finding Nemo" for the third time and cuddle up with the fuzzy dog and hubby. Hope you all have a good night. :)

hey Sherri... you better post some pictures sometime! :) I have two hours to go before we leave on our trip! woo hoo... I am done packing, but I know there is something I have forgotten!

Well, have a wonderful, safe, fun trip to NYC! Keep warm!

Have a GREAT trip Smitha!!! I'm so jealous, but I'm sure you'll let us know all about it when you get back! :) Can't wait to hear about the great time you had! :)

Carrie keeps saying that she's going to cut her hair really short... and I happen to like longer hair myself. But it'll probably be too subtle a change, and I'll forget that she told me that she went to the salon, and then I'll be in that same category of "men."
Sherishutterbug93 on January 11th, 2004 01:35 am (UTC)
Ah Roger, I think you'd notice if Carrie got a haircut,...I have faith in you! :) I don't even think that you're in that "men" category that we sometimes complain about. ;)
Care: smilecareleswhisper on January 11th, 2004 01:58 am (UTC)
He isn't in that category, but he doesn't notice my hair sometimes. ;) hehe It's never a big change anyway, so it's no big deal. Plus I know he loves me and that's all that matters. :)

I hope they keep the show on. I'll help support it. :) 4 in NYC, damn!!! That's cold.
Sherishutterbug93 on January 11th, 2004 12:59 pm (UTC)
True enough, that is all that really matters. :)

Thanks for supporting "Line of Fire", Carrie! :) It really means a lot to me that you do! :) And I think I 4 degrees is a bit ridiculous! At least I'm prepared with all my heavy winter clothes. :)

BTW, where are the pictures???!!!??? :D

Maybe I'll get brave and post some later. :P

Yay! So glad that you got your hair cut and like it! And even better that Mark noticed it! =) Joe is pretty good about noticing things like that as well. Now I need to get something done with my hair. It is at the "driving me nuts" stage of growing out.

Sherishutterbug93 on January 11th, 2004 12:57 pm (UTC)
My hair was at that stage too! :P I really needed to do something with it, because it was driving me nuts. :P And that's pretty good that Joe notices haircuts too... I felt a little bad for my friend Susan, because she got about a foot cut off as well and her boyfriend didn't notice! :(
ajayne on January 11th, 2004 01:18 pm (UTC)
Some men just don't notice anything, but having a foot cut off the length... that is huge! =)
Mrs Beanshuman_beans on January 11th, 2004 09:11 am (UTC)
Of course we'll all want to see pictures!

When my hair was butt-length Fred often wouldn't notice if I trimmed a few inches. Once a neighbor commented, "Oh you got a haircut!" so after that Fred on a regularly scheduled basis would say the same. When I cut off a foot of it (& gave it to Locks of Love) Fred definitely noticed.

Mark's pretty good about noticing things like haircuts. Outfits are another story! :P Once he told me, "I love your new dress!" and I told him that I had worn it many times before! Poor guy! He's trying, though. ;)

I want to see pictures of your hair!!!! I bet it looks GREAT!!!

Have fun in NYC!! I wish I was on my way to cold weather! I had the fan on yesterday too... and I havent gone outside yet today... but Im sure it will be on again today... its in the 70's... pushing 80's here. BLECH!!! I hate it!!! :)

Anyway, have a fun, safe trip!! Im jealous!
Sherishutterbug93 on January 11th, 2004 12:53 pm (UTC)
Thanks Angie! :) And I can't imagine it being that cold in NYC! :P Especially with the heat wave we've been having here. It's nice to know we aren't the only ones who are having warm weather now. :) Thanks for the good wished for my trip, I'm SO excited! :)
Carriecarrieh on January 11th, 2004 11:16 am (UTC)
Now when do we all get to see pics of the new hairstyle. How short has it gone? I've always faniced getting my hair coloured at the hairdressers, but have never actually plucked up enough courage to do so.
We definitely need to see piccies!
Sherishutterbug93 on January 11th, 2004 12:51 pm (UTC)
I cut about a foot off. :P It's a HUGE change for me, but I'm liking the lighter feel to it. :) This is the first time I went so light with the highlights, but I think I'll stick with this from now on. :)
Carriecarrieh on January 11th, 2004 02:17 pm (UTC)
Wow, you must feel a huge difference if you've had so much cut off.
Sabine: Lausersabine10 on January 11th, 2004 12:18 pm (UTC)
I'm glad that you like your new hairstyle. And I wish I could see it. :D

I'm crossing my fingers that the weather will not be so cold while you are in NYC. I've not yet seen something about it but "Finding Nemo" really seems to be a good movie. What is the topic of the movie? Hope you had a nice "cuddle time". :)
Sherishutterbug93 on January 11th, 2004 12:49 pm (UTC)
"Finding Nemo" is such a cute film, you really should see it. :) It's made by Disney/Pixar and it's touching, funny, and just really sweet. :) It's about a fish who is searching for his son who has been taken by a human for his fish tank. :) Cute movie, I highly recommend it! :)

And I'll try to see if I can post a photo of my new hairstyle soon, I can't seem to take a decent one though... :P
WE ALL NEED A SENSE OF HUMOR: pink care bearbeam861 on January 12th, 2004 06:59 am (UTC)
Nothing better than a quality film, a husband, and a fuzzy dog to cuddle with! I love Finding Neomo! I smile everytime I watch it!
Sherishutterbug93 on January 12th, 2004 08:15 am (UTC)
I love that movie! :) I don't ever think I could see it too many times. :) And you're right, cuddling with the fuzzy dog and hubby is a wonderful way to spend the evening! :)
