Anyone remember Horlick's candy?
They were chocolate malt tablets in the 70's or early 80's? I miss them! :( I went to the market today with Mark and he told me there was a new candy called Koala Malts that were supposed to be just like them... Well, we bought some and... they just didn't cut it! :( I want my Horlick tablets in those small glass jars back! :(

I'm back to my salad-a-day diet again. Whenever I go on trips I have this need to lose weight - unfortunately the urge to do this usually hits me a week or so before I leave and there's not much weight I can lose in a week. :P

Ticketmaster sent me a reminder email to see "Millie" on the 16th. Like I could forget! ;) It's all I've been able to think about for the past couple of days. :) I think it's neat that they send them, though - with the outrageous $6.75 service fees we're paying per ticket, they should send us a reminder, darn it! Sorry, can you tell I'm not a ticketmaster fan? ;)

And because I feel brave today..

My hair is actually a lot lighter than it appears in the photo. :P

Sydney's been trying to sniff my hair ever since I got home from the hairdresser. Yesterday she would come over to sniff it and then sneeze every time she did (guess the dye has a bit of a strong smell sometimes). It was just cute because she kept doing it... one would think that she'd learn her lesson after the first time. :)

And I got my "Wicked" tickets in the mail today! :) I'm so excited! I can't think of a show that I want to see more on Broadway than that right now. Idina is a belting goddess! :)

Your hair looks great, what a nice photo of you, although Sydney does kinda look like she wants to escape off to whatever she's looking at on the right.
Sherishutterbug93 on January 11th, 2004 04:40 pm (UTC)
Thanks Carrie! :) And Sydney did want to escape! Her favorite chicken toy was at the foot of the bed and she was worried someone would take it away! ;)

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP I rememeber that candy. Well sorta actually. Btw, they still do have Horlick's at Daiae and Longs.

Oooooooh Sheri, I love your haircut! You and Sydney look good! I should go and get a nice new haircut, for the new year.

My sister wanted to know if you knew of any camera shops around? She was wondering if they would have any telescope products?
Sherishutterbug93 on January 11th, 2004 04:44 pm (UTC)
They do?? I must check it out! Those Koala Malts are fine and good, but they just don't cut it! :(

And thanks for your kind words about the haircut. :) I just couldn't stand the long hair anymore and really wanted a change. :) You should cut your hair too, it's very liberating! :)

The only camera shops around here are Francis Camera, and that one on Fort Street Mall (Rainbow Camera - I think). There's also one on Queen Street that's pretty good. Most of the camera shops here are over-priced. I think Francis might have telescope products, but I'm not too sure. :P

YEEEEEEEEEP! You can find them in the boxes at Daiae and Longs. My mom was telling me about the malts, about how they used to have them before. I kinda do remember them, but not that well.

I'm thinking of getting a haircut for this month. I definitely need the change. *L*

Thanks for letting me know about that. My sister is getting into astronomy. They're going out at night, when it's super freezing up here and looking at the moon and stars. I was thinking camera shops were overpriced, but she asked me to ask you about it.

So cute! Sydney looks like she wants to escape but then so do you!

It's cute that Sydney keeps sniffing your hair. Ginger does that immediately when I get home from having mine done.

Sherishutterbug93 on January 11th, 2004 04:58 pm (UTC)
Thanks! And yup, I wanted to escape too! :)

I wonder what it is about the salon that makes pets so interested in sniffing our hair after we get back? BTW, I'm liking your new icons. :)
Mrs Beanshuman_beans on January 11th, 2004 05:28 pm (UTC)
Thanks!! It makes me look so much cuter better than in RL. I wonder what my kid thinks of it -- I can see him rolling his eyes now.

I really like your hair! You both look very cute in this picture :)

Thanks! I felt a little brave today so I thought I'd post it. :)

Horlick's candy does sound vaguely familiar, but I can't remember what they tasted like. How about Clark candy bars, have you seen one them lately?

I think your hair looks really nice!! Sydney looks really good too! :)
Sherishutterbug93 on January 11th, 2004 08:08 pm (UTC)
I've never heard of Clark candy bars (and I don't think I've ever seen them here) What were they like? And Horlick's were delicious! Tasted just like you were drinking a chocolate malt! :) I miss them! :(

And thanks for the kind comments. Sydney was looking and pining over the chicken you and Amanda gave her while the photo was being taken! :)
orion74 on January 12th, 2004 09:02 am (UTC)
Clark candy bars were chocolate that covered a crunchy kind of peanut butter. They are very similar to Butterfingers, and I think Clark bars were around first.

I'm really glad that Sydney is getting so much enjoyment out of the chicken! :)

Tom! You can't find Klark Bars???? They are still widely sold in MI
I don't like them my self, but if you want, I could send you some.
orion74 on January 12th, 2004 09:07 am (UTC)
I just haven't seen them for a long time. Thanks for offering to send us some, but I think they taste just like Butterfingers.
Claudelleclaudelle on January 11th, 2004 11:22 pm (UTC)
Really a cute picture.
Sherishutterbug93 on January 12th, 2004 08:16 am (UTC)
Thanks, Claudia! :) We both SO didn't want to be in it (as you can see by Sydney's body language) ;)

I have never heard of the candy you mentioned, but I understand your frustration. I used to love Chocolite Candy Bars--but they don't make them anymore. In Canada they make AERO bars which are almost the same thing, so when I go to Canada I stock up! I also used to love Grandma Shearer's Sour Cream and Onion Potatoe Chips, I can no longer find them in that flavor. I also liked CAINS Potatoe Chips--
which I can no longer find! Don't these manufacterers know that people have their "Obcesions"??? (Sometimes I think it is a good thing though my fav's are no longer around, I don't need to eat more junk and gain MORE weight.) I wish you GOOD LUCK and GOOD WILL POWER with your diet! I love the hair, it looks so cute! Everyone needs a change once in a while. New haircut, new job, back to school
WOW! A whole new Sheri!! No one can say you are affraid of change!
Sydney looks cute too! My cats always smell my hair after I wash it,
I think they like the way the shampoo smells!
Sherishutterbug93 on January 12th, 2004 08:21 am (UTC)
I've never heard of AERO bars or Cain's chips (gee I feel so left out all the way out here in Hawaii!) ;) They sound really good though. I'm beginning to wonder if Horlick's was a local thing here since Rayna knew about it, but no one else really did.

And thanks for the kind words about the photo. :) Sydney was trying to get away from me - and is displaying her "fussy" expression. ;) And I was very ready for a change! :) Hope you're well and staying warm!!
irisheyes77 on January 12th, 2004 08:51 am (UTC)
Your hair is too cute like that! And Sydney looks adorable as always.

Ticketmaster prices are outrageous.
Sherishutterbug93 on January 12th, 2004 08:53 am (UTC)
Thanks! :) And I wish I could boycott Ticketmaster - but unfortunately they hold the monopoly on all my show tickets. :( *heavy SIGH* :(

You're hair makes you look so adorable. :) I really like it. :D

Thanks, Carrie! :)
Sabine: Lauser Kaiserg.sabine10 on January 14th, 2004 07:32 am (UTC)
I'm sorry, I don't know where I had my eyes, I just saw your photo for the first time. You look great! Sydney looks like me when somebody takes a photo of me. :) Lauser also had to sniff my hair when I'm back from the hairdresser. Perhaps, they try to learn this way that a part of you has got a new smell. :) Thanks for sharing the photo. *Hugs*
