Unintelligible patter...
There are a bunch of things are running through my head right now,... none of which are really coherent. :P Just watched the MOST spectacular episode of "Line of Fire" tonight! Julie was absolutely incredible in it!! Eight episodes have aired and it still feels a little surreal watching her on TV since she has to be one of the most unassuming people you could ever meet. :) I certainly hope the show gets picked up for the regular season, if it doesn't, next week's show will be the last one. :( And I'm not ready to give up my "Line of Fire" viewing just yet! :(

And tonight I did something I never thought I'd do - I watched "American Idol" for the very first time. Why? I have no idea, I just happened to turn to it and similar to a train wreck, I couldn't turn away. :P And I think now I have to watch it tomorrow night. Sadly, I think I've gotten addicted. :P

What else? Oh yeah, the very first Krispy Kreme opened on Maui today! The news said that there were more than 200 people waiting outside this morning for the doors to open! That's outrageous! But it gives you an idea of how deprived we are out here... Now, if we can only get an Applebee's here I'll be happy... and a Bath & Bodyworks. :) And a Claim Jumper... And a... well, you get the idea! :P

And lastly, gotta love my friends! I just received the sweetest gift today from one of my CA friends. She sent me a GC for Suncoast (woo hoo!) and two NASA shotglasses. :) It was so sweet that it really made my day - I adore my friends. :)

I'm off to do more woo hoo-ing on Julie's message board, work on a proposal for Misty's site, and give some attention to my fuzzy dog. :) Hope you all have a good night. :)

that show is addictive... the last one where Reuben won... oh I started watching the last three ... and the last night when the results were comming out, by golly, I even called up my roomie, who got me into the habit, to see who one cause I was in class or something!!

arrgh...

They just played the World Idol here.. he he he.. no I didn't watch it. They are starting to play the American Idol next week or something. I don't understand why... isn't it weird though, the world Idol only has western countries taking part, and they call it the world? hmm... I just noticed that as I typed...

They should open an Ikea in Hawaii!! :)
Sherishutterbug93 on January 28th, 2004 08:13 am (UTC)
I agree! We need an Ikea in Hawaii! :) There are so many stores, restaurants that we DON'T have! :(

I've never heard of World Idol. And I can't believe I sat through and watched the entire hour of auditions. :) I also know I have to tune in tonight because they'll be showing the auditions that were held here. :) Should be funny! :P
Smithasmittenbyu on January 28th, 2004 05:44 pm (UTC)
he he... well, it's just all the countries that do the idol thing compete against each other to pick the world idol... they had a few weeks ago... guess it wasn't as popularised as the American Idol

You forgot we need a Trader Joe's!!!!!!!!! We have to wait another few years or something for Oahu to have a Krispy Kreme right? I know it was like in a 5 year period. :-P

You gotta watch AI tomorrow, it's HAWAII!! I heard they found a lot of talent here.
Sherishutterbug93 on January 28th, 2004 08:33 am (UTC)
I agree! We definitely need a Trader Joe's here!! :)

And I'm definitely making it a point to watch AI tonight! It should be very interesting to see. :)

I need a Trader Joe's.

Yeeeeep, I'm definitely going to watch AI tonight!
WE ALL NEED A SENSE OF HUMOR: Halking Hello Kittybeam861 on January 28th, 2004 06:05 am (UTC)
Wow! Krispy Kreme, I can't believe all those people were lined up, they are good, but not that good. Do you have other dougnut places there, or is that the first? You are not too far behinde Krispy Kreme just hit our city about 4 years ago! I love Bath&Body Works, but I had to promise myself that I would not buy anymore things there, I have too much already! What is your favorite scent? We have lots of Applebees, and I never go there to eat, hmm.. I have never heard of Claim Jumpers, What is it??? Hug the fuzzy dog for me
Sherishutterbug93 on January 28th, 2004 08:19 am (UTC)
We have DD here in Hawaii, but for some reason - when a new place like Krispy Kreme opens on the islands it's HUGE news... I remember when our first WalMart opened - Oh my goodness... I heard the crowd was mob sized. :P It's just that we're so deprived down here, I think. :P

My favorite scent from B&BW has got to be Sweet Pea. :) I LOVE the bath and shower gel! :)

I think there are a lot of Claim Jumpers in CA - I've been to two - one in the Orange County area and one in Monrovia and the food was great! It's a mash potatoes and gravy kind of place and the food is tasty and the portions are HUGE!

And I'll be sure to hug the fuzzy dog for you! :)

We had Krispy Kreme open near us about 2 years ago and people are so obsessed with that place! There are STILL humongous lines at that place. I don't see the excitement, they are just donuts. (I am not a donut fan though.)

American Idol... I swore that I was not going to watch it this time. But the auditions are to terrible I just have to.
Sherishutterbug93 on January 28th, 2004 08:24 am (UTC)
I like Krispy Kreme donuts, but they're a bit sweet for my taste. It's like eating pure sugar. I like the way it's lighter than the average donut, though. I still go and visit the one in Burbank every time I go to LA, though - just because they're the only place open at 6am when my flight gets in. ;)

And American Idol is definitely addicting. I'm so NOT a TV person - but there was something pretty compelling about sitting there watching the auditions. Even Mark's become addicted! :)

I watch too much TV and I hate that I get sucked into these reality shows too often.
irisheyes77 on January 28th, 2004 07:27 am (UTC)
That's really cool about Krispy Kreme! I really like their malted milk ball doughnut, but it's a special edition at some and a staple at others, so don't know if you guys will have that variety or not.

We've only watched American Idol once and it was just the tapes of people who didn't make it and were horrible. It was pretty funny!
Sherishutterbug93 on January 28th, 2004 08:26 am (UTC)
I'll have to try the malted milk ball donut, it sounds really good! I think we'll have to wait a few years for a Krispy Kreme to come to this island, though. :(

Mark & I saw the auditions last night and it was hilarious. :) I said I'd never watch it, but it was pretty darn addictive! :)

I haven't been able to see AI because of class. I'll catch up on them tonight though. :) I can go w/out Krispy Kreme really. Yes, they have good stuff, but I think the small shops are still better.
Sherishutterbug93 on January 28th, 2004 08:28 am (UTC)
Tonight is the Hawaii auditions and everyone here is talking about it, so I know I'll be tuning in. :) Do you tape them all?

And I like Krispy Kreme - they have the lighter (but sweeter) donut than DD - and sometimes it's a nice change down here. :) We really need an Applebee's though! :)
BOOM! goes the dynamite!mslauren2930 on January 28th, 2004 01:36 pm (UTC)
I really gotta watch all the episodes I have of LOF on tape. I haven't seen anything past episode 3 or so, and I almost gave up on taping it any more last night because I haven't watched anything I've taped yet. I'm sort of running hot and cold on the show. it's on too late for me to stay up and watch, but I'm horrible about watching things I've taped. I'm so backed up on Alias it's not even funny. and with basketball season, specifically ACC conference play going on now, I've even more distractions.

ah well....hey, I've been meaning to ask....when are you going to be back in NYC? I go home rather frequently, and it would be neat to meet you during one of your trips up thisaway. :) I'm getting a car very soon which means many more trips home to see much more theater. I've been so lax lately in going home to see shows....I missed Patrick Stewart at the Roundabout in December and it really bummed me out. :( ohwell...anyway....
Sherishutterbug93 on January 28th, 2004 08:48 pm (UTC)
Well, I might be biased but episodes 4, 5, and 8 were the best that I've seen so far. It was probably because those were the ones that showcased Julie's character. :) And I guess it means a whole lot more to me because of Julie... I had wondered earlier if I'd be watching it if she weren't on the show and after episode 2 I had my doubts. It certainly picked up again for me during episode 4 and only got better IMO since then - Julie or no Julie. I'm hoping it gets picked up because I only want great things for her since she's been such a dear to me this whole time.

I'm actually going back to NYC over the Valentine's Day weekend. Mark & I usually go there as our gift to each other and we catch as many shows as we can see. :) I'm also possibly planning a trip to the East Coast in May to see some of my friends (who will all be congregated there for another reason. :)) But I'd love to meet up with you (maybe we could see some shows together) :) I HAVE to see "Assassins" so I know I'll be back after March! :)

Re:
well, if all else fails, I'll also be seeing "Assassins" as a long time Sondheim fan, so we ought to talk about meeting up as that draws closer. I'm not sure I'll be around over the 14th, but it's possible, and I'm hoping probable. I kinda miss NYC right now. I usually get a fix once a month, and I'm getting a little antsy being stuck here in DC. oy...NYC...can't live near it, can't live without it. I'm hoping that there will be a bunch of good plays to see in the next few months. I'm not as much into musicals as I used to be, but much prefer straight plays. as you may have seen, I'm over the moon about going to see "Sight Unseen" again, over Memorial Day weekend. *sigh*
