I thought traffic would be a complete mess coming home and I wanted to get home soon since I know how scared Sydney gets when earth shaking thunder strikes. :( I hoped that she was okay all by herself at home and not hiding under the bed. :( Luckily traffic was much better than normal (I think everyone was stuck in the town vicinity) and I got home relatively quickly. Sydney was whining before I opened the door and as soon as I walked in she jumped into my arms. I'm glad I was able to come home when I did, the poor thing must've been scared to death by herself! :(
In work news, we're planning a big surprise luncheon for my boss tomorrow. :) The end of the month marks her 10th anniversary with the bank and we're getting her flowers, Chinese food for lunch, and chipping in to buy her "comfort" items from Sharper Image (the thought being that after 10 years of stress at the bank, she needs to take it easy) ;) It should be great... I don't think she has any idea that we have anything planned. :)
And on a sillier note - I'm tied for the lead in my office's "American Idol" pool! :) There's only one other person who is tied with me for the most picks that are going to the final 12. The pool itself is so much fun - and every Wednesday morning we're huddled at my co-worker's desk seeing who we picked (we randomly picked 10 from the 32 before they even sang - based on what we knew of them from the auditions and the one with the most picks in the final 12 wins.) It's just a fun way to break the boredom of work and it's such a great morale booster. :) I love my work place! :)
And in a mix between my two of my favorite things: "Queer Eye" and Broadway - I just read this. :) Of special note is Hunter Foster and John Tartaglia who will be in a snippet of the show - which I have to see now! :)
I'm off to study some more...hope you all have a nice Friday! :)
