I came to a grim realization yesterday...
...that sleep is extremely necessary for me to function at work. Not that I ever doubted it, but it became very apparent yesterday. The entire day I felt like I was moving in slow motion. Things were flying past my desk, the phone was ringing off the hook, and there I was - sitting at my desk trying to sort through everything (and having a hard time doing it on the two hours of sleep I had the previous night...) I used to survive on hardly any sleep in college, but I guess I'm showing my age...

I went home a half hour early yesterday and I guess the good news in all of this is that my recent lack of sleep made me so tired that I fell asleep on the couch (while talking with Mark! - which wasn't the good news part of it...) at 7pm last night. I woke up here and there in between, but had one of the best nights of sleep I've had in a long time. I'm just hoping I conquer this sleep problem before I leave for LA again in a week and a half.

I know what you mean about the sleep thing. I've been having a really bad case of insomnia lately as well. I think it's probably the bad humidity that we've been having these past couple of days. But it's getting better, I'm laying of the caffiene and have been exercising a bit. The exercise helps a little because it relaxes me and makes me tired enough to sleep.

I think you're right, the humidity here definitely doesn't help the sleep situation. I really need to invest in an AC. :( Aside from all the problems at work and the awful humidity, I attribute part of my sleep problems to an on going jet lag I seem to have. It seems just as I get used to one time zone - I'm off on another plane having to deal with another one... Glad to hear that things have been better for you and that working out helps - I know that'll probably help me too, but aside from insomnia, I also battle a bit of laziness. :P
