Feeling a little under the weather. :P
UGH... I can't believe that I slept for most of the day today! Mark & I went to the market and then I came home to study and... all of a sudden it was four hours later! :P Sydney must've been happy, though because she had a nap buddy. :) When I woke up, she was sleeping very happily, curled up under my arm. :) I'm just upset because of all that time that I wasted when I could've been studying. :P And I feel like I'm on the verge of getting sick. :P That would be horrible especially with everything coming up at work (but would make sense - since I somehow always manage to pick the WORST times to get sick). :P

It's been forever since my friend Susan and I have had dinner together (we usually go once a month - but both she and I have been SO busy!) Her wedding is coming up on June 12th and she's already getting ready to send out invitations. :) I've been trying to think of a nice place to have her bridal shower, and some nice favor / prizes to make for the guests. :) I think once my exam is over I can concentrate on planning the shower a bit more - only two more weeks until I'm free!! :)

Got my "Avenue Q" ticket in the mail yesterday (which I purchased when I was pretty certain I'd go) and I'm thinking about selling it on ebay. :( STILL undecided about NYC in May - though if I have to think about it this hard, it's probably not a good idea. :P Looking more toward a July trip with my Mom for her birthday. I just don't know if I'm ready to give up the "Assassins" ticket I purchased for May just yet. :( :(

And I know this has been talked about on the theatre message boards already, but it's really sad... I can think of a lot worse things that teachers and parents at that middle school need to worry about - not the least of which is anything that may appear on network TV in the 7pm time-slot these days... :(

Oh no! I hope you are not getting sick. =( I hope you do get to go in May... I know how much you want to go.

Thanks, Andrea that's so sweet! :) Hopefully it was just all this lack of sleep recently catching up with me. And I haven't ruled out May yet, though the possibility of going is looking slimmer and slimmer. :( Thanks so much for your comment. :) Hope you have a nice day. :)

I really, really do hope you get to go in May. =) And yeah, hopefully it is only lack of sleep and stress catching up with you.

welcome to the world of Fairfax County Virginia, in the lovely conservative world of Northern Virginia. I'm neither shocked, nor surprised, and now you know one more reason why I live on the MD side of the DC metro area.

I hadn't realized that the area was that conservative. I've actually been to (and stayed in) Fairfax since one of my online friends used to live in the area.

"1776" has to be one of the tamest shows, most tasteful shows ever! Shows the real human side to historical figures and is (from what I've read) pretty historically correct (give or take many things they threw in for humor). It just makes me sad...

it's all because of Janet. if Ms. Jackson hadn't had her "wardrobe malfunction" people wouldn't be in the hyper-sensitive/conservative tiff they're in now. I'm peeved because I may lose my Howard Stern as a result. oh that annoying out-of-control BOOB! ;)

Haha! That darn Boob! ;)

Oh, I hope you are not getting sick! Maybe that is why you slept so much yesterday! Maybe your body is trying to fight off an illness. Take some extra vitamins. Sending healthy thoughts your way! As for shower prizes: What has worked well in the past ...small plants, drinking glasses, with candy in them, wrapped up in netting in the color of the wedding then tied at the top with ribbon. Another inexpensive but pretty idea is, buy a plastic tray
of flowers (something you would plant outside) then wrap the foil wrapping paper on the outside and tie a ribbon around it, it looks really pretty and is practical. However, I don't know how practical that idea is where you live! I know I have more ideas, I just can't think of them now! I will keep searching my brain!

Those are some GREAT ideas for favors / prizes, Barb! Thank you so much! I especially liked the small plant idea! Thanks again for the ideas, if you have any more, I'd love to hear them. :)

And I hope I'm not getting sick too. :P I think it might've just been lack of sleep - we'll see. :P Thanks for the healthy thoughts, I think they're working because I feel a little better already. ;)

Glad you are feeling better. For my shower, my sister took clippings of her plants, rooted them, and then planted them, and gave them as prizes. A nice thing to do for the bride is to have everyone write out their fav recipe on an index card then put them in a card file for the bride. Do you need game suggestions to?
Other ideas: Scented soaps If there is a bath and bodyworks in your area, they often have those on sale
Scented candles in a votive cup. If you tie some netting around this it looks really nice
Small picture frames, the size that holds a small school pic
I don't know about anyone else, but I really don't like get the household stuff like dish towels, ect

Oh, I do like the recipe idea! What a great gift idea! :) And sadly, no Bath & Bodyworks around here! :( I always have to stock up on things when I'm in LA! :( But I think you've hit on a GREAT idea with that... Thanks so much all these GREAT ideas, Barb! :)
